Sometimes this gets too

pleasantly surprised -
and I double-checked my
arithmetic to make sure I

Life is full of such
surprises. Women tell me
that they have difficulty
doing the spring cleaning
because they decide to go
through some old things
and find so many friendly
old mementos that they
had forgotten that it
starts them off on a chain
of daydreams. and -they
forget the reason they
started to investigage.
And sometimes it hurts.
It is painful to come up
with some of our
forgotten details of life.

How to cope.
° Stress is something we encounter every week of the year. But
during Mental Health Week, from May 4th to the 10th, we're putting
the stress on knowing how to cope with it.
Stress is a part of normalliving.
Anda little stress can -even help individuals realize new suckesses--1.--
or achievements.
But evidence is mounting thatexcessive or prolonged stress is
linked to major illnesses.
So the trick is not to ignore stress.
" But to understand and control it. And now, during Mental Health
Week, is a good time to start.
If tension, anxiety and daily pressures start mastering you
instead of the other way around, trydealirt with them in a few
simple ways.
Keep up your general health. Good physical condition can help
you cope with stress situations.
Talk abOutlor work out your problems. Talking and physical
activity are emotional outlets which can help pr6nilems into,
perspedtive.
Give your support to friends, family and co-workers during
periods of stress. As it helps them, it can also take your mind off your
own problems.
Learn some of the new methods of controlling stress, rhereiare
all kinds of techniques, from the simplest to the most sophisticated.
And finally, get more information on how you can understand
and deal with stress, by writing to: Ontario Ministry of Health,
Resource Centre, Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario M7A 1S2.
After all, the more you know about stress, the better
you can cope with it. And Mental Health Week is a good
time to start.

personal ones, and best
wishes were extended to
Marilyn with her project.
The president closed
the meeting and a social
time with tea and sweet
breads was enjoyed by
all.
It's painful when I
discover that far from the
account owing me
something, I owe it a
couple of dollars.
Did you ever re -read an
old book, and have the
odd sensation of being
reintroduced to almost -
forgotten characters?
Did you ever.return to o,ld
haunts and find them
changed?
Did you ever pick up
your Bible and find that it
wasn't quite what you
expected td read in a
familiar narrative?
Pick up your Bible, and
re -read some of the
familiar things. It's full of
surprises
some
pleasant, some not so.
Maybe you'll find you
have something coming
to you, or maybe you'll
find you owe it
something, . but I'll
guarantee it won't be
quite what you expected.
Or don't you like being
surprised?
