Some of the entertain- ers were from our area, Lisa Frayne and Denise Connelly, Elaine Cote of Ripley, Betty •Doherty, and some of the students from the grades four, five and six room at St. Joseph's School, Kings- bridge. Grades one to seven from St. Joseph's School particip- ated in the Kiwanis Music Festival on Monday of last week. Results were: grades one and 'two, third; grades three and four, second; grad- es five, six and seven, fourth. Jenny Martin entertained some little girls at her eighth birthday party on Saturday. • Wendy Westecott, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Westecott, underwent a ton- sillectomy at the Alexandra Marine .and General Hospit- i Goderich ' on 'Thursday . A family gathering Was held at the home of Mrs. Clarice Dalton and family last Sunday when Joshua Phillip, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Martin, Glammis, was ghristened. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clare and Mary Luanne were Mrs. Lloyd Bruder, Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Ryan, Dorothy Ryan and Laura Ro- den, Toronto and Mrs. Joe topperauld, Detroit. They all attended the play Oklahoma at VIA Wingham High School in which Mary Luanne was participating. Fr. John Peeters, a Mis- sionary in Guatemala. visited with his cousin John Van Rooy, Mrs. Van Rooy and family during the week. 4-H Achievement night was held at Brookside on Thursday evening. Congrat- ulations to Jackie and Diane Van Osch and Diane Milten- burg of the Kingsbridge club who received their County Honours for completing six clubs and also to Donna Drennan of the Kingsbridge club who received Provincial Honours on the completion of twelve clubs. The leaders were Barb Van Diepenbeek and Donna Hogan. They are also leading a summer pro- ject, Outdoor Living, which is . open to both boys and girls, twelve years of age and over. Shirley Norman and Charlotte Norman travelled to Sudbury recently to visit Valerie Norman, who teaches , school in Sudbury. A surprise party was held at the home of Barb and Alvin Betties on Thursday honouring Mrs. Arabell Bushell on her “21st" birthday. Guests were Ida and Ed Goclkin, 1.Mary Grigg, Cliff Lobb, Donna. and Harold Tyndall, Kay Hanley, Mrs. Dru McMurray, Ruby and Watt Webster. An enjoyable evening was had by all present. Mr. and Mrs. Murray MacLeod and Mark of ,Gravenhurst formerly. of Clinton, were in the area this past weekend visiting friends and relatives.
