The April meeting of
the Auburn Village
trustees was held in the
town hall with the
chairman, Warner
Andrews in charge.
The minutes of the
March meeting were
approved as read by the
village clerk. Mrs. Ross
Dobie.
A letter was read from
Melanie McLaughlan
regarding the Winta io
grant and as 'Soon ias
possible, estimates will
be sent to her on the
repairing and
renovations of the library
rooms and town hall for
her consideration,

Wawanosh Township
Councils stating their
approval to reopen
Goderich Street at the
eastern entrance to the
village.
Permission was
granted to Auburn
Horticultural Society to
put up the flower pots
along Goderich Street for
the summer months.
It was, announced that
trees along the village
streets will be trimmed
this spring.
A letter from. . G.M.
Young of Burlington
asking for information
regarding his family tree
was turned over to Mrs.
Eleanor Bradnock to
answer. His father was a
Presbyterian minister
(the Reverend Stephen
Young) in Auburn in 186.7.
BABYSITTING COURSE
Many parents are
concerned about their
'children when they leave
them with a babysitter.
The Anglican Girls'
Auxiliary is sponsoring a-
Babysi.tting course. Any
girl 11 years of ageis
welcome to attend. Each
girl is required to attend
all meetings for three
weeks. After satisfactory
completion of the course,
each girl will be certified.
The leader for this
course is Mrs.. Alma
Craven. If you are in- _

SILVER TOPS
The Auburn Silver Tops
held their dinner last
Wednesday at noon. After
the delicious turkey
dinner served to 48
persons, the president,
Ross Robinson, con
ducted a short meeting.

the treasurer, Mrs.
Eleanor Bradnock.
Bus trips were
discussed and more in
formation will be coming

enjoyed their best.season

Colborne cardpartya success
There was a splendid
crowd of 11 tables of card
players at the euchre
card party in Colborne
Township Hall last,
Thursday evening, April
10. Even with the big
crowd, there was still a
shortage , of men so'
several women had to
play as men.
This was the final card
party for this term and
those present were a bit
reluctant to call it quits
as they have been -really
enyoy_ing,. this... outing..
every two weeks. But all
decided to resume the
card games early in 1981
if possible. A vote of
thanks is extended. to Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Fisher
and Mr. and Mrs. Reg.
Riehl for. organizing and

Charles ` C. Walton
passed away in St.
Joseph's Hospital,
Gualph on Monday., April
7 in his 91st year.

The late Mr. Walton
was married to Merle
Horton,: whopredeceased
him in- 1961. She was the
daughter of the late
ArchibaldHorton. Her
sister was the late Mrs.
Rod (Grace) Bogie and
'her brother was the late
-James Horton, all for-
merly 'of Colborne
Township.
The--late-.Ms Walton -is
survived by one son; Paul
Walton of Guelph, and
two sisters.
For many years the
late Mr. Walton was a
salesman for the
Goodyear Tire Company
and resided in Toronto.
Funeral service was
conductedfrom. the
Bullock Funeral Home in
Beaverton, which was
Mr. Walton's home town,
on Wednesday, April 9,
