ders for trees to be
planted on Town
boulevards this spring.
Due to location and tree
diseases, the type of
trees to be planted shall
be at the discretion of
the Town.
If you wish a tree (s) to be planted in front of your
residence or business,--please-contact--the office -of -thee
Commissioner of Works, Mr. Kenneth C. Hunter at 524-
9492 before April 17, 1980.
There are a limited number of trees available, so
please call early.

themes to be explored
April 12 at a conference
° on the family to be held at
London's Fanshawe
College sponsored by the
Secretariat for Social
Development.
To emphasize the
Ontario government's
interest and commitment
to strengthening and
reinforcing the positive
values of family life, a
one -day conference
entitled, "The Family -
Society's Fortress?" is
being held' Saturday,
April 12 at l'anshawe
College from 8:30 a.m. to
4:3t)P.m
"This ey,ent is the
second of four regional
conferences and is part of
a continuing public
consultation on family
life in the province. We
expect it to draw abort
300 participants from all
areas of southwestern
Ontario", says the
Honourable Margaret
Birch, Provincial
Secretary for Social
Development.

vice-president of
Laurentian University in
Sudbury, who will ad-
dress the topic, "New
Ways of Strengthening
Family Life". Broad-
caster Jack Burghardt
from London is luncheon
speaker.
Those attending will
_participate in discussion
groups on topics such as:
Income and. its Effect on
the Family, the Elderly
in the Community, Young
Adolescent Parents and
the Handicapped as
Members of their Family
and Communities.
For the past several

years, the Ontario
Government has
proclaimed May as
Family Unity Month "to
encourage all families to
strengthen their homes
and set aside special
times to do meaningful
things together as a
family." Attendance at
the conference will help
set the stage for this
special month-long event. -
There is no registration
fee fol the conference,
and free child care
facilities will be
available. Coffee and
dessert will be provided,
but participants are
asked to bring lunch.

EXETER - While records e.
appear a little in-
conclusive as to the exact
date when a high school
was started in Exeter,
organizers are planning
the first reunion of for
mer students and staff on
June 21.
The students of the
Grade 12' and 13 class of
1980 are staging the first
reunion and a full slate of
activities is planned for
the day as well as plenty
of time for former
students and staff to
renew aquaintances.
The history of the high
school has been traced
back to 1905, making this
the 75th anniversary.

SEAFORTH - A $5,175
grant, to be used by a
group of senior citizen
residents at the Seaforth
Manor, has been ap-
proved, by Health and
Welfare Minister
Monique Begin.
The Manor Marvels, a
20 -member group from
the Seafo'rth nursing
home, plan to use the
New Horizons grant to
buy a kiln, expand their
ceramics program,
purchase outdoor
recreation equipment,
and develn.p other new
and existing programs.
Mary Finlayson, ac-
tivities director at the
Manor, said that in some
cases the nursing home
will assist -in developing
recreation facilities,
however, the equipment
purchased with money
from the grant must be of
benefit xo the, residents
and not the home.
Crash
kills one
LUCKNOW - Arthur
Graham, 73, of. Lucknow
was killed on April after
the car he was driving
left Havelock Street and
hit a utlity pole..
Mr. Graham suffered a
broken neck land was
pronounced dead at the
scene of the single car
crash.
