G.D.C.I. placed first in its zone of 26 schools in the annual Junior
Mathematics Contest. Several of the 49 G.D.C.I. students who
participated placed highly In the contest. Placing In the top 10 per
cent In all of Canada were, from left, Griff Murphy, Scott Wilson,
Ron Vanderllnde, Ken Taylor, and Tom Foran. The students will

Frilly hats, long skirts order of the day
Frilly Hats, and long
skirts were the order of
the day one Friday
recently when Antique
Day was held at
Huronview. The Goderich
Museum presented a
display in the craft room
• all day and the residents
had a greaat time
reminiscing. The dinner
at noon in the main
diningroom was suppose
to simulate an old -
fashion farm• 'meal.
Special thanks to the
Goderich Museum for
bringing back so many
memories to our
residents, and to Mrs.
Betty Rodgers and staff
for the extra effort put
forth with an excellent
meal.
Also, we would •like to
thank all staff members
and residents who
.dressed ' up for the oc-
casion. Participation is
what makes days like this
a success. Marie Flynn,
Ken Dale, Lorne Lawson,
Stewart McCall, Warren
Whitmore, Wilson
McCartney and our own
Cecil Skinner and Jim
Ruddock, combined
forces and.presented Old
Tyme Music on Monday
afternoon.
On Tuesday evening,
we showed our ap-
preciation " to our
volunteers by slerving
them a turkey supper in
the main diningroom. We
adjourned to the
auditorium after our
meal and there Frank

Seniors and friends en-
joyed ' a • program and
dance at the Centre on
Wednesday, March 26.
Everett Sperling in-
troduced the Master of
Ceremonies, Jim Magee,
who entertained with a
blackboard demon-
stration in economics and'
reminisced about the
"good old days" on the
farm.
Mr. Magee then in-
troduced the soloists of •
the evening. Miss Debbie
Shaddiok, flutist, played
the b utiful •Ave Maria
accoipanied on the
pian by Darrell Kloeze.

Kenny Rogers The fine
talent displayed by these
young musicians was
very much) appreciated
by the audience.
Music for the dance
was provided by Francis
Schram on the violin and
Bruce Ryan on the guitar.

dancing. Horace
Crawford was the
capable caller.
Two tickets for an
organ recital were
donated by Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Jams for a
draw. The iticky. winner
was Mrs. JxiySrnith.
Lunch` was served by
Russ and Marg Alton,
Grace Fuller, Irene
Harnack and Helen
Magee.
The next event will be
an evening of euchre, 500,
and other games on April
9.
An interesting meeting
wilt take ' place on

p.m. : Richard Hewitt,
New Horizons
representative, will
conduct a seminar on
programs and ad-
ministration of a Senior
Citizens' Centre: All
people who are interested
are urged toattend this
informative meeting.

'Greg Wilson, a 16 -year-old Grade 11 student at
G.D.C.I., placed in the top one per cent in the
1980 Junior Mathematics Contest. Over 26,000
students across Canada competed in the annual
contest, sponsered by the University of
Waterloo. Greg's name is—on -the ---Ontario -.and -
Canadian Hoiior Rolls and he will be presented
with the School Champion Medal. Greg's math
