Dan Duncan of the Goderich Sailors Is tied up in

action in Goderich Sunday.. The Sailors defeated
Lucknow 7-4 Friday to tie the series at one game
apiece but Luc know won 5-3 here Sunday to lead the
series 2-1. The series resumes tonight (Wednesday)

Cathy Callow wins silver medal
at figureure skating competition
During the . past
weekend some of the
Goderich figure skaters
took part in the Western
Ontariosection winter
invitational competition
held in Sarnia. This
competition is quite a
popular competition for
figure skating com-
petitors.
Eleven year old Cathy
Gallow , of Godetieb..._won
a silver medal in the pre-
, juvenile event. The club
is .extremely proud of
Cathy for winning second
place in this event.
Cathy had to skate
against 60 skaters in thir
event on Saturday and .
skated in the finals on
Sunday ending up in
second place. Cathy is the
daughter of Tina and.
William Gallow, and is
coached by . club
professional Mr. Rick.
Pettit.
Debbie Horton of
Goderich and her partner
Cur'tisMoore of Wingham
won a gold"medal for first
place in Junior Dance.
Aveleigh Cook and
John Barger won a Silver
medal for second place in
Junior Dance. Both of the
dance pairs are coached
by Rick Pettit.
Other skaters taking
part in the competition
and putting on good

The Lucknow Lancers
hold a one -game edge
over the Goderich Sailors
in Intermediate C playoff
action as the teams head
into the fourth game

series thus far with each
team' winning on. the
road, Last Sunday the
Lancers grabbed the'
opening game of the

win here and a split on the
weekend boosted them
into a 2-1 lead in the best -
of -seven series.
The: Sailors won the
second gam of the series

Lancers rebounded. with
a 5-3 win here Sunday to
again steal the series
lead.
The Sailors were full
value for their win in
Lucknow Friday taking
the lead after only 16
seconds of play, a lead
they maintained
,throughout the game.
,Goderich .led 2-1 after
one period but increased
the margin to 4-2 -after 40
minutes. They outscored
Lucknow 3-2 in the. final
period to clinch the win
and even the series at one
game apiece.
Paul Kelly led the
Sailors offensively with
two goals and two assists.
