The Goderich Lions doubt about their

The Lions kept their
tournament win streak
intact with another im-
pressive win Monday
night, 6 - 2 over SL
Lambert in the annual
East-West exhibition
gamebetween the two
teams.
Captain Trevor Erb
had two goals and two
assists for the hard -
skating 'Lions. Rob
Gibbons scored once and
had four assists. Todd
Jeffrey scored twice and
had one assist.
Shawn Rahbek scored
the other Lions' goal on a
hard slapshot from
two rounds.
Friday, in the official
opening game of the 31st
annual tournament, the
Lions came up with a fine
effort to -upset
Mooretown, 4 - 3 in
overtime. Defenceman
Shawn Rahbek broke up
the tense overtime, duel
with 1:38 left in the 10
minute overtime, scoring
on a shot from just over
centre ice.
Mooretown held a 1 - 0
lead after the first period
on a goal by Dwayne
Dennis but the Lioris
scored three unanswered
goals to lead 3 - 1 by the
.four minute mark of the
third period.
Rob Gibbons scored the
only goal of the second
period -on a play with
•linelnate • Trevor Erb.
Grant Garrow put the
Lions in the lead just 36
seconds into the third
period on a goal assisted
by Brent W il'liamson.
Three minutes later Erb
scored to give the. Lions a
two goal lead.
Steve Webb shaved the
difference., to one goal
when he scored for
Mooretown and Mike
Wallace forced overtime,
scoring. a controversial
goal with just two and, a
half minutes left in the
game.
The puck went across
the goal° mouth behind
Lions' goalie Rob- Dunn
and was ruled t� have
crossed .the goal line by
referee Larry Daer.
The Lions were trailing
on shots :on goal in the
overtime and had to score
to . win. Rahbek's shot
gave the Lions the victory
and they • advanced to'
second round• play
against Port Elgin who
had snuck by Delhi 1 0 in
their first game.
The Lions left • little

Goderich, Rob Dunn
played another strong
game in goal for the
Lions.
Martin Lefebvre and
Hugo Halle scored the St.
Lambert goals.
At the conclusion of the
game, Roger Turcotte
presented the East-West
trophy to the Goderich
team on behalf of the
GnriPrich T inn¢ Club.
The -Lions - play -today-
(Thursday) at 2 p.m. in
the 'B' division semi-final
against Kincardine.
Lions' coach Dick Madge
expects a tough game
from the Kincardine
team who have looked
strong in victories bver
Hanover and St. Marys so
far in the tournament.
The 'B' finals will be
played Saturday at 2:45
p.m. •
Goderich rink winner

Association. bonspiel
The Belmore Com-
munity Centre and

Huron . Cattlemen's
Association Annual
Bonspiel on Wednesday,
March 12.
