Presbyterian Women's
Missionary Society met
for its March meeting at
the home of Mrs. Wilfred
Sanderson...
The president, Mrs.
Wilfred Sanderson, was
in charge and gave the
call to worship. She
welcomed 'r' 1. The
.devotional ' �'" iod was
taken by Mrs. Eleanor
Bradnock. The scripture
lesson was read alter-
nately_ and the mgclliUtiori
was followed by prayer.
The roll call was an-
swered by a bible verse
containing `risem'.
Mrs. Sanderson gave a
reading, A Thought for
Every Day. The mission
study, Turning on the
Lights in 1980, was taken
by Mrs. Frank Raithby.
She told about the
missionary's challenge in
Lochalsh
today's ' world despite
famine =liar moil.
The minutes of the
February meeting were
approved as read by the
secretary, Mrs. Lillian
Letherland. The financial
statement was given by
Mrs. Frances Clark.
It was announced that
the Cancer Sooiety would
again sponsor the selling
of daffodils. Please phone
Mrs. Clark your order
before March 24 along
with the money.
The meeting was closed
with a- hymn --mid the
benediction by Mrs.
Bradnock. Lunch was
served by Mrs. San-
derson.
4-H MEETING

Auburn 2, 4-H club
members was held last
week at the home of Mrs. -
Tom Cunningham.
The president, Barbara
Gross, was in charge of
the meeting which was
opened with the 4-H
pledge. The minutes of
the previous meeting
were adopted as read .by
Annette Losereit. A
discussion took place

Sympathy of the commun-
ity is extended the Finlayson
family in the passing of
Donald Finlayson of Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Little-
john and family will be
leaving the community to
make their home in Calgary.
Mr. and Mrs. Littlejohn
spent the weekend with Mrs.
Florence MacKenzie.
Word was received that a
former resident of Lochalsh,
Mr. Lamert Vanderveen, had
passed away in Calgary,
where Mr. and Mrs. Vander-
veen had gone after living on
the former Ross farm. They
had visited in Holland in the
fall and spent the time there
with the late Mr. Vander=
veen's 92 year old mother.
Several from this commun-
ity who have been holidaying
in the South have returned
home: Mr. and Mrs. Ewan
MacLean from Florida where
they spent five weeks; Bob
McIntosh from Myrtle
Beach; and Mr. and Mrs.

Dave Elphick from California
where they spent a week.
Mrs. Gordon Finlayson re-
turned home from a trip to
Calgary where she visited
daughter Carol and husband
and son Ian.
Mrs. Louise Millar (daugh-
ter of Mrs. Emile MacLen-
nan) is with.the Maxey travel
agency of Palmerston as an
escort and reports .some
beautiful tours. A card today
says she is enjoying Florida.
Mrs. Ewan 'MacLean and
Mrs. Oliver McCharles at-
tended an executive meeting
of the Ripley .and District
Horticultural Society on
Tuesday, at Mrs. Reg God-
frey's home in Ripley.
Visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Wellington Webster for the
weekend were Mr. and Mrs.
Atlee Wise and Tricia,'John
Brunnie, Bob Glovier and
Ron Ellis, all of Richfield,
Ohio and also Jim Webster of
Waterloo..

group, known as the
• "Nile Inner Circle" has
been formed with the
main purpose to ' raise
money to make
renovations to the Nile
United Church.
The next meeting will
be held at Mrs. Marilyn

Hospital. He has had
surgery and is
progressing quite well.
Several from here and
area travelled to Bay
City, Michigan last
weekend .to see the St.
Patrick's Day Parade on
Sunday, then home by
Frankenmuth for supper.
Everyone had a good
time and really enjoyed
themselves.

Fred Young suffers two
broken heels in mishap
Fred Young is a patient in
Alexandra Marine. and Gen-
eral Hospital, Goderich, as
the result of an accident at
work last Wednesday. He
was on a load of steel on a
truck bed when he, in some
manner, lost his balance and
fell to theground. He has two
broken .heels.
There were eight tables in
play at the Orange Lodge
