EDITO
Dear Editor,
In, Mr. C. F. Barney's
letters we find him
touching on many Bible
Subjects but he ignores
the most important topic
• of all, God's 'plan of
• Salvation for mankind.
We find in I John CIA. 5,
• V 13, that the purpose of
the scriptures was to
inform us that through _
Jesus Christ we could
..... _ _knaw—for_certain-that-we—.
who have believed and
aecepted the Son of God
have eternal life.
—I would be .most in-
terested to know if Mr.
Barney believes as the
Blue- -§-tatei-ow
over again that the only
way man can be born
• again and know for sure
his sins are forgiven is
through faith in the Son of
God.
Surely Mr. Barney
knows that the only way
man can communicate
with God the ,Father is
through His Son Jesus
Christ John Ch. 14,V6.
As to the Deity of Christ
• the Bible tells us plainly
there are three that bear
record in heaven, _The
Father, The Son, and The
Holy Ghost, and these
three are one.
Also John Ch. 1O,.V 31,
tells us that the Son and
Father-al'ecine': ---

We are informed in
John -Ch. 5, V 23-, that -we --p.
Wrong name
Dear Editor :
My letter contained the
wrong name in reference
to •Revelation 1:1. It
should have been John
the Apostle or Disciple
instead of John the
Baptist. However, the
point made still applies.

Dear,Editor:
Re: Dave ,Sykes' Column,
thursd_ii,.y,_ March _13,,
1980.
I wish to state that
Dave Sykes' column
about the hostage
situation in Iran, and how
the hostages while away
their time, is one of the
most offensive articles I
have read in a long time.
The incredible poor
taste of choosing such a
tragic situation and at-
tempting to use it to
entertain readers of the
Signal -Star is not only
degrading but •insulting
as well.
Mr. Sykes seems
oblivious to the fact that
the hostages are .in fact
prisoners of a political
periencing loneliness,
fear and possible
Ity's' -in en t al
are to honor the Son of
God the same as we
honour the Father.
Anyone that honoureth
not the Son honoureth not
the Father as they are
inseparable.
It must be reassuring to
all that the controversy
over Christ's Deityis
limited to earth as I am
sure there is no con-
trtiversy over it in
heaven.

Ignored
• Dear Editor;
The comments in
--responso—to--the--reeen
motion Councillor Magee
and I made (to allow $1'00 -
property tax credit an-
nually' for local citizens
receiving the monthly old
age supplem.ent
payments) missed or
ignored some points.
One. cannot come closer
to the actual total through
.any "study" now or in the
future,- because •income
related figures are
confidential. We used
Wallaceburg • for • com-
parison. • Only when we
allow people to apply do
we find out how many will
apply.
There is an even more
important point. To use a
popular expression, this
motion -would have put
our money where our
mouth is.
When it comes to'senioK,
citizens in need or senior
citizens in general, we
prefer to spend nice
words on • them on'
suitable occasions. Is that
• all we can afford?
• Yours regretfully
Elsa Haydon
toitttfre.
The Sykes' article
reflects utter in-
sensitivity and disrespect
for a human tragedy.
Your S truly,
• Jennifer Hill
