I think thea part of the answer can be supp)sied from a scene at Toronto International Airport last Friday. On that day, two of us ' representing tete Goderich Inter -Church Refugee Committee had driven there to meet a .refugee family from Laos.` As we waited at the gate for Flight 413 from Mgntreal, we met other sponsoring groups who were also awaiting the arrival of refugees. There was a sense of excitement in the air, and a warm feeling, and as the immigration- worker Goderich's first refugee family arrived Thursday, February 21. A special pot luck supper was held so that members of the Knox congregation could meet Sing To and the. other members of his family, refugees from. Thailand. Beside Sing To, Sonya McCallum and Laurie Edward draw pictures, to give to his sister, Bounmy, 8. Our family, Mr. and Mrs. Linh Racksasouk, and their three sons and two daughters, aged from 7 to 15 soon accepted the fact that we would be taking then for a long car ride to Goderich. Fortunately we had two interpreters with us as the newcomers knew not a word of English. Yet their faces showed warmth and trust. I felt in that airport a sense that this was the church in action.
