HANDY BLOCK
You've seen it advertised nationally in T.V. Guide.
Handy Block aids in removing paint, varnish, and
lacquer, also removes stubborn stains that even san-
ding won't remove - like inks, dyes, and water.
Use similar to sandpaper by onlyrubbing with the
grain. A chemical reaction powers off old finishes.
Handy Block is similar in cost to conventional methods
of stripping - but without the mess, and Handy Block
works faster - half the time, In most cases.

Give yourself

BY JOANNE
BUCHANAN
The March school
break is coming up in two
weeks and many parents
will be wondering what to
do with their children
when they start com-
plaining that they are
The Goderich
Recreation Department
has the perfect solution.
For the fifth year in a
row, it is offering a week
long program of ac-
tivities in the gymn at
Victoria Public School for
children from six to 11
years of age.
Activities include in-
door and outdoor games,
relay races, floor hockey,
films, crafts, singing, and
hiking. There are prizes
for the competitive ac-
tivities and on the last
afternoon of the program
there will be swimming
at Vanastra pool.
The cost for the
program is $12 per child
or 125 per family of three
or -more aildren. It will
run from Monday, March
17 to Friday, March 21
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
,Children- are asked to
bring their lunches with
them.
It is important to pre -
register children for the
program at the
recreation office (in the
grand stand at 166
MacDonald Street, phone
524-21,25) prior to March
14. A maximum of 40
children will be accepted.
Supervisors of the
program will include high
school students, Nancy
Fisher, Karen Melady,
Cindy Gower and Kim
Dobie. With the exception
of Kim, all the students
have worked on
recreation programs
before.
The recreation
department will soon be
sending out about 1,000
flyers describing the
week long March break
program. Jane Netzke of
the department says the
program has been fairly
successful in the past,
averaging between 30 and
40 children. So, register
your children early and
give yourself a break
while they are on school
b-eak.
