P ZCH•$IGNM -ST. a THURSDAY,
ornmittee-
ests rebate for
tern Air Services
The Goderich
i►4nticipal . Airport
commit -tee ipassed a
motion at its meeting last
Wednesday . to recom-
mend to town Council that
Western Air Services be
given a rebate at the end
of 1980 'for fuel used
during the year in the
amount of five per cent.
provided that it purchase
a minimum of 40,000
gallons of aviation fuel
from the Goderich air-
port. ,foz-lts_Mreraf .anal
t that this discount be
renegotiated in January
of 1981.
The motion followed a
I gthL. discussion by the
committee on thead-
visability of giving a
discount on fuel.
Secretary Ken Hunter
pointed •out to the com-
mittee that the airport
does not make a profit on
aviation fuel and supplies
fuel merely for the.
convenience of airport
users. He also pointed out
that the airport had a
deficit of approximately
$50,000 in 1979.
The committee felt that
giving a discount to,
Western Air Services
would set a pecedence at
the airport.
Some committee
members felt that ,by
giving incentive to
Western Air Services tot
buy their fuel int
Goderich, it wouldbenefit
both , the town and
Western Air Services.
LEASE DISCUSSED
Mr. R. Stephenson,
owner of Custom Crating,
a business which is
located at the airport,
was present at the
meeting to discuss the
terms of his lease with
the airport in regards to
Mr. Ball's building. Mr.
Stephenson rents the
building from Mr.. Ball
and pays thejown for the
rental of the land which
this building sits on.
Mr. Stephenson was
informed12,3L, the _argert
committee that the town
has no plans. to 'have Mr.
Ball's building moved in
the near future but, if the
land is' required for
airport expansibn at 'a
later date, it will have to
be moved from the air-
port property. Mr.
Stephenson was also
informed that _since his'
rental is by the year, his
lease is good until
December 31, 1980. -
The committee then
passed a• (notion that the
secretary inform Mr.
Stephenson in writing
that his lease is good until
December 31, 1980 and
that it can be renewed
yearly provided it is
agreeable to the airport
committee and that the
committee has no plans
for the land occupied by
Mr. Stephenson at that
point in time.

from the harbor to the
core of the town and could
be used the same way at
the airport__This idea isto
be brought up at the next
airport meeting at which
time it is hoped that the
liason member of the
tourist committee will be
present.
Secretary Hunter
presented a plan for the
tree trimming at the
airport this . year. The
plan is 90 per cent
complete and the com-
pleted plan will be
presented at the next
meeting.

proposed airport ter-
minal. Terminal com-
mittee chairman, Dick
Wright, is to have a
