President Cloet discussed this. year's budget with the club and is • looking .......forward to another good year for service in Goderich. LI .y ,4'LLA NA• Adele and Mike Drennan, representing the Kiriette and Kinsmen groups, presented a cheque for $2,400 to Claude Kaibfleisch and Eugene Bender of the Goderich Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society. The service clubs raised the money at a recent bike-a-thon for cancer. (photo by Dave Sykes) The Kinsmen intend to continue their .annual projects, including the upcoming Fall Auction and Fall Stag, Ski-A- Thon, monthly draw, summer carnival, Spring Auction, Spring Stag and New Year's dance. Three LW ,projects were discussed, „. . • Funds raised this. year will primarily • be 'chan- nelled into three areas: the Kin Centre on South Street which houses the workqhop for the Goderich and District Mentally Handicapped Adults; Cystic Fibrosis, the district's project; and the Goderich Kinsmen's Octogenarian program, The club also supperts the Arena. Roof Fundi minor sports and numerous other programs. The Kinsmen Club of Goderich was pleased to announce last year through the support of the citizens of Goderich and district, it was •able to donate close to $25,000 to the community andhopes to do even better this year. On a national level it was announced on the occasion of • the Association of Kinsmen Clubs' Annual Convention held this year in Regina, that the association donated $43,916,629.45 1 4hrough their 508 Kin- stuen Clubs from coapt to •coast toCaaadlan corn trinnit • Mr. Don Masterson, • last year's natioanl president of the. association, stated, "At. an average of over $93,000 per--club-r-our--assaciation • • continues to be, one of• the world's most effective service clubs. Kinsmen is Canada's All Canadian Service Club and. is the only major service club founded in "Canada. The Kinsmen Club ' of Goderich is one of 588 clubs in Canada and is presently in its 32nd year dedicated to Goderich's greatest needs. Two of the objects of Kin are to train their members in modern business and professional ethics, and to carry on service work in .their community.
