Join. Under the spon- sorship of the Kinsmen ;its operations will include the maintenance of the small paintt he iunciiotl of St. Patrick's and Arthur streets, the meeting place of the octogenarians during the /Omer period -off - the club's existence, ' an annual garden party for the members, and the remembrance of members on their bir- thdays. The Kinsmen in deciding to sponsor the club felt that it was an honor for such a group of young people as them- selves to be allowed the privilege of such spon- sorship, and in the second place they recognized that the general attitude of the public was to associate service work with the children and middle-aged. members of the community, while the citizens of the older. generation were ap- parently neglected-.. .. While ' gladly giving their time and energy to the promotion of the club, the Kinsmen request the assistance of all the octogenarians in advising Mr. D.J. Patterson, committee chairman of the names, addresses and telephone numbers of any who are entitled to membership in the organization. ro . Special award Goderich Kin charter Clinton group in -1952 At a special meeting, sponsored by the Goderich Kinsmen Club, the charter was officially presented tothe newly - formed Clinton Kinsmen Club. The presentation was made by Governor William Golby of Chatham, to President Trey. Iansoii, of Clinton, before 150 , Kinsmen Bert Such;,and Pat Petterson with octogenarian William Campbell gathered from .all points of Western Ontario. Guests included: ' Mr. Rogers, . father of Hal. Rogers,founder of the Kinsmen Clubs, and Lorne Browri, president of Clinton Lions. Club. President Jerry Knechtel of Hanover, past national president of Kinsmen, installed . the Clinton executive.
