The first t'wo winners in

further competition at the
Clinton Legion on
Wednesday evening. Our
congratulations go to
those pupils who took
part in the. contests at the
school and -to those pupils
competing in Clinton.
On March 13,
evalutions of the the work
done by each pupil will be
sent out to parents or
guardians. The reports
will be derived from a
combination of the pupil's
"--work-'tlurrng"the1ast term
and the results of exams
written during the week
on February 27 to March
4. Now is the time for
those students writing
exams to prepare for
them.
The annual Winter
Break will be held during
the week of March 17-21.
The students will be
dismissed on March 14
and will return -to school
on March 24.
Kindergarten
registration will be held
on March 7. It will take
place between 9:30 and
11:30 am and 1 and 3:30
pm. There is no specific
area women in hospital

Jim Van Osch, who plays

onrtte•n. suffered torn liga-
ments to his knee when he
was injured during a game
with Clinton on Friday even-
ing. Jim will be out of hockey
for the rest of the season.

mid term break at his home
here the past week.
Jdhn and Rita Howard,
and Theresa Courtney at-
tended the wake of their
cousin, the late Frank Hogan
in Hamilton on Thursday.
Mr. Hogan, who was 72, was
a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Hogan and once
resided near Kintail. He is
survived by a brother, Am-
brose Hogan. Denver. Color-
ado, and a sister. Mrs.
Cecelia Spohn of Dundas.

Grade sixpupils are doing
(french answer) tests this
week. They discovered earl-
ier that (English answer)
french tests are easiest to do.
Similar tests are to follow,
doing the local animal `king-
dom.
Grades seyen and eight
have enlarged their french
vocabulary with 53 birds,.

The monthly meeting was.
held on Thursday afternoon
in the Parish Hall with 21
members present. The meet-
ing was opened with prayer
led by Fr. Dentinger.
Mrs. Pat Howard, presid-
ent. welcomed the ladies.
Minutes of the last meeting
were read by Delores__ Vag_..
Osch and adopted as correct.
Several thank you notes were
read' by Karla Hogan, cor-
respondence secretary. Cor-
respondence also included an
,article from Combermere
asking the group to reduce
the amount of clothing they
receive as they have more
than. enough. They would
accept old jewellery, rosar-
ies, holy pictures, planters,
cups and glasses, especially
red, blue or yellow, to work
on for crafts. later used for
gifts.
Mrs. Tina VanDiepen,
Cultural Life convener, asked
that every member whohas a
C -WL, pin. to please wear
it to the meetings.
Mrs. Clarice Dalton re-
ported on the next Pro -,Life
meeting to be held in March
at Goderich; also the World
Day of Prayer to be held at
the Christian Reformed
Church, Lucknow, March
7th.

serve a light luncheon each
week to the several teachers
who will be taking a univer-
sity course at the school be-
ginning in September. It was
moved by Clarice Dalton,
seconded by Mary Clare that
the group serve the teachers.
A donation is to be made to
Joanne Menary,' Girl Guide
leader and a gift is to sent to
Brenda Wylds, who had been
Brownie leader until illness'
forced her to resign. It was
decided to buy. pen and pen-
cil sets for the' grade eight
graduates again this year.'
Father Dentinger stated
that the hall washrooms are
in the midst of extensive
repairs. A Youth Encounter
will be held here in March for
the young people of the
Parish and St. Peter's, God-
erich. Father Dentinger also
spoke on making Lent more
meaningful. as a family. The
meeting was adjourned by
