Lettersto the Editor.... • from page 4 Mr. Broadbent. Thanks for reading the column: Be heard Dear Editor: In your report on election night you mentioned an article in the Federation ;of Agriculture paper as being "pro Murray Cardiff". This was quite correct. Last Wednesday at the Board of Directors meeting in Toronto, the difectors of Huron Countyydelivered a strong protest., We told them.' that in Huron County, we do not need some editor in Toronto to tell us how to vote.. The Federation.' of Agriculture is not "pro" or "anti" any particular party or candidate. We -feed an organization tha`i is supported by people of different politica' views should be,,,.neutral at election time. We feel that people in- 'Huron County, after having, the candidates and their families live in our midst, and as we listen to them during their cam- paigning, are quite_. capable of electing the person whom they like to have represent them. From the election results it is quite obvious that we had, good can- didates in all parties. In all fairness, we should look at the advance poll which was taken a week before the "Town and Country" paper - came, out. It gave allcandidates the same percentage ;as on election day and also that only farmers get the Farm and Country paper. The 'Federation of Agriculture is not political, .It supports policies that are good for farmers, and 'opposes the things, that are detrimenal to farmers; regardless of which patty is in power. The policies of the Federation of Agriculture . depend on the farmer! So, if you are a farmer be sure you belong and be heard. Thank you, John Van Beets RR1 Biyth Ontario Befuddled. Dear Editor, The Befuddled have resurrected' Tut-Duddle as a leader. Naturally, Duddle is flattered right but of his cotton-pickin' skin, heis in a good position, because he can burn the roast in the oven and get out and leave the Befuddled party, to -.clear away the°smoke: Says he, "I have ten- dered my resignation and I was just pinch-hitting until the chief cook and bottle washer arrives." In the meat—afire, .th-e "- Befuddled party are dancing and eating.hors d'oeuvres, and wondering • why the call -to dinner has not been received. The discreet ones will eventually become disgusted and leave. Of course, a minority will stay until 'the bitter end; and declare the party a complete' flop - thus witnessing the end of the Befuddled regime. Sincerely, N. J. Minaker, Goderich. In reipiy to Mr. 'Bar- ney's letter of"February 21, 198Q where he doubts that tle Scriptures affirm Christ's essential deity,. I would like to•state: In the foreword of the Kingdom Bible by Jehovah's Witnesses, Page 17, we read that the Greek word. kurios is .a substitute of the divine name. On page 18 we reed, "How is a modern translat, to know or deter ew s, to render the rlreek words kurios and'N'eos into the divine name in his version? By determining where the inspired Christian writers have quoted from the Hebrew Scriptures. Then he must refer back to the 'original to locate whether the divine name appears there." They then proceed to break the rule they just set! How did Jehovah get into Revelations 1:8'when it does not quote from the Hebrew text? At Isaiah'45:23 we read where Jehovah says unto me emery knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear and at Romans 14:11 the Kingdom Bible reads, "As I live, says Jehovah., to me•_„ every knee will bend down and every tongue will make open acknowledgement. GODS_ RICH S.ION,A F -ST , ITA DAY, F, Barney geto.,a reply Acknow Ie4gentent of what? Philippians 2:11 says, "And• every tongue should openly acknowledge that Je&us is Lord "kurios" Greek to the glory of God the Father." Why is kurios Jehovah at Revelation 1:8 and not at this text .in Philip- pians? At Philippians 2:10 -.-we read that in thename of Jesus every knee should' bend. But why bend the knee to an angel? If Jesus is Michael, the we are told at Philippians 2:11 that if we openly acknowledge Michael the archangel as Lord, we then bring glory to 'God the Father! Since Philippians 2:10 says that those in heaven bow the knee to Jesus this means then, according to what Jehovah's Witnesses teach that all angels bow before one of their own and acknowledge him as Lord. They again make "kurios" Jehovah at John 1:23 which is. an obvious reference to the Messiah. At Romans 10:9 we again encounter kurios when a footnote says Not Jehovah. But in that same footnote weread a rather remarkable fact namely that Jesus is called "ha adon" in the following manuscripts: Greek'. Scriptures in. Hebrew' in 1831; Greek Scriptures in Hebrew 1818; Greek Scriptures in Hebrew 1846; Greek Scriptures in Hebrew 188.5. Since the Watchtower Society makes use of these texts, can they be found -in fault? If so, why does the Society use a l .iblical text suspect of Tura to page 16 0 a 0—PA IIGItW`AY' BA"Y'F ELD PHONE, 565-2 90 omplete rr1e " . p Building Suppiles Free Delivery The popular Futuro firrn Sheer Panty Hose, with comforting support, now comes in this bright, new package.
