The GDCI Vikings
wrestling team finished
second in the Huron -
Perth 'Conference high
school wrestling
championships here
Friday.
Stratford Northwestern
won seven of 15 weight
"classes to take the team
honours with a total of
1461/2 points. The Vikings
had 1401/2 points. Third
place South Huron of
Exeter had 132 points.
The Vikings had 15
wrestlers place in the top
four of their weight class:
Fourth place finishers
were Wayne McCaul (44
kilos); and Rick
MacDonald (74 kilos). Six
of the Vikings .were third
in their class: Del
Bedard(44 kilos); Ray

Vikings suffered their
first -loss of the. Huron -
Perth Conference
basketball season in
Stratford nn Friday when
they dropped a close 49-46
decision to the Stratford
Central Ramblers.
The Vikings led 18-16
after one quarter and the
game was tied at 26-26 at
half-time. Stratford held.

with 1461/2 points after winning seven of the 15

Shewfelt, at 57.5 kilos,

kilos, were the gold
medal winners for
Goderich.
These 15 wrestlers all
advance now to- the
WOSSA championships
Friday and Saturday in
London.

thirsty skip. The com-
petition is between the

JoanHibbert. Second was
Don Edward, skip, with
Lynn Edward, Ray Cook
and Peggy Cook. Third
place'went to Tom Moore,
skip, with Eileen
Bowman,Len Bowman
and Betty ]Moore
The second draw was
won by Ed Brissette,
skip, with Ardithe
Brissette, Ron Takalo
and Vivienne Takalo. In
second place, Jamieson
Ribey, skip,- with Faye
Ribey, Lorraine Betties
and Paul Betties. The
third place team was
skipped by Don Mit-

Door prizes were won
by Don Mitchelmore. Ann
Kuran and Joanne
Collins. Boxes of
chocolates were
presented to all the ladies'

The Dempseys and
Edwards curled.. well
against stiff competition
in the Rose Bowl

but lost out in their final
game. Our club is proud
