The Goderich bantam 13s split a pair of league games last week in WOAA action. The Bs lost a 4-2 deciSion 'in Listowel last Tuesday and rebounded for a 503 win over Hensall in Goderich. Against Listowel the teams tied 1-1 after .one period -but Listowel held a 3-2 edge heading into the final period. They added an insurance goal inthe final period. Ray Vanstone scored the first goderich goal from Lee Frisby and Jeff Feagan in the first period. Doug Smith added the second Goderich goal. Goderich took an:ecii.. y 3-0 lead against Hensall Chess Club play In Level 1 play, Kirk Lyndon came up with a big win to take a stronger hold on the Last top leVel spot and also has become a serious threat to Jim Kingsley in fourth place. The Steelers came close to tying the series Saturday but surren- dered four third period pals in the 7-5 loss. Petrolia led 2-1 after one period but Goderich outscored the home team 3-1 in the middle period to hold a: 4-3 lead heading into the final period. P.etrolia outscored Goderich 4-1 in the final period. Brad Armstrong led the Steelers offensiv,ely with three goals and an assist.- Linemate Dafid Gallow scored once and •Mark, Crawford added the final Steeler goal. Here Sunday the Steelers trailed 4-3 midway through the final period but allowed Petrolia to score three straight goals in one Minute and cltnch the series with a 7-3 win. Gallow scored two of the Steeler • goals. and Mark Crawford added a single goal. Armstrong assisted on two of the Goderich goals. This Saturday the Steelers wig play a league game in Clinton and on February 29 and March 1 they will host a Montreal bantam team on the first leg of an exchange. .
