public speeches. The
speech may be fictional
or non-fiction. The speech
must be more than three
Minutes and shorter than
five minutes. Points will
be deducted if it is too
short or too long.
The winners from each
classroom will go to the
. gym and if chosen from
there, will speak at the
Legion on February 20.

Wednesday, January 30..
CKNX asked what the
government could do to
ensure a brighter future
for young Canadians. His
reply was that .that was
what the proposed budget
was supposedto do.
FLOOR HOCKEY
Mr. Ritchie started
floor -hockey- for the
Grade 7 and, 8's. Mr.
Chambers' cli‘s has gone
undefeated.
On Wednesday,
January 30, the first
junior floor hockey game
was played by team 1 and
2. Team 1 is Miss Braid's
class. Team 2 is Mr.
Mathies' class. Team 2
defeated team 1, 6 to 1.
SKATING
Mr. Charnbers' class
'went skating with Mr.
Ritchie's .class.
Everybody had a good
time. Nobody was hurt.
• They played ice hockey,
floor hockey and ice
4pccer.
The Grade 2-3 classes
of Mrs. Freeman and
Mrs. Brown had a,. great.
time, at the arena on
Wednesday: -January 30.
A lot of the children are
very good skaters and
some have skated for the
first time. Many parents
and pre-school children
joined in the fun
