'church service. The
minister read the in
memoriam •and offered,
prayer for those gone
before. Heread his report
and thanked all for the
planning and work of 1979
centennial year, a suc-
cessful and rewarding
year.
The minister said, "I
was delighted to receive
so many new members
into our church - last Year,
and others may take the
opportunity to join 'the
churchatE aster ."
The nominating
representative to the
presbytery is to be Mrs.
Jean Ginn.
The hour of worship
during January and•
February will be at 1 pm,
and the other months at
9:45 am. A motion was
apptoved to receive all
reports as printed. Irvine
Tebbutt extended a
hearty vote of thanks and
appreciation-- --Oestreichere er from
congregation. The
minister expressed his
thanks to all and, closed
the meeting with the
Benediction. .

The Art Bell Gun Club
benefit dance will be held
in the Goderich •Legion
Hall, February 9th;
dancing 9-1; Punch
provided; proceeds to go
towards ball equipment
for the slow pitch teens
and the gun -club; music

Wednesday, February 27,
the Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 140
Clinton will hold its an-
nual !public speaking
registration 'Of the con-
tentants, .beginning at 7
pm. The contest is open to
pupils from grades 4-8.
Holmesville School will
have its own contest to
pick the finalists a week
or two before February
• 27.
Contentants will be
organized into two levels,
grades 4-6 and grades 7-8.
Each pupil selects his
own topic which must be
no less than three
minutes and no- -more
than five minutes. We
would like to express our
appreciation to the
sponsor,-. the Clinton
Legion Branch.
The staff of
Holmesville school would
like to thank all the
parents who attended our
skating party on Friday,
January 11 at the
Goderich arena.
Volleyball: On
Saturday,February 16,
our senior--boyand girls
volleyball teams will
travel to Central Huron
Secondary School in
Clinton for a volleyball
tournament. More details
on this tournament will
be sent home later with
participants.

A. Paul Dilks of
Stratford was elected
chairman of the board of
governors of Conestoga
College at its inaugural
meeting, January 28 at
the Doon Campus. .
Mr. Dilks is a lawyer
with the firm of Ander-
son, Neilson, Bell, Dilks,
Skinner and Anderson.
This is his third year on
the board of governors.
John Ashton of Cam-
