Webster started the program- off with a few selections on a mouth organ, followed by a solo by Mrs. Van • Demme accompanied by Mrs. Radford at the piano. The club acted out a reading. called.. "Somebody's Mother". Elmer Trick entertained the residents with some musical selections on the piano. Ken Flett finished the program off by playing his violin. Happy Birthday `was sung to those celebrating their -birthdays -an-d-giftswere distributed. Keller, the editor of the Goderich Signal -Star, • visited the Grade 3 class of Mrs. Sharon Brown. They had been studying about the newspaper and found out lots of in- formation from Mrs. Keller. She explained how the newspaper used to be printed years ago and how it is printed today. ° - She told about the various jobs people have at the Signal -Star, from finding the° news --as- reporters. to delivering the newspapers. Lots of the students are interested in working for the paper when they grow up. They were very in= terested in her slide show. SALE There has been a dif- ferent and imaginative sale at Robertson School this past week. From Jan. 16-18, students of Mr. Al Leggatt's Grade 8 class have been selling bricks - yes bricks from the school building itself. Each student who bought a brick received a certificate and gold seal to show that that par- ticular brick belonged to them. The .class had an ex-, eerie -fit sales pitch and did some very interesting advertising. . The main slogan was ,"Buy a piece of your school." Three students won prizes for choosing the secret bricks`.
