The Lions' league record now stands at 15 wins and two losses. Seaforth staried• off fast, opening up a three - goal lead in the first period on goals by David Mclllwain, Chris Cardno and Kevin Melady. At that point it looked as though the teams might be, staging a repeat perforrnattee of their only other meeting this season when Seaforth jumped off to an 8-1 lead over the Lions, . only to" see the Ijons come back with a rally which fell short, with Seaforth winning 10- 8. However, this time the Lions had other Ideas: •A- ' pair of goals by right- winger Rob Gibbons and a goal off 'a hard shot from the point by • defenceman Shawn Rah- theLions_on_equal., • • tern:is -With Seaforth by the middle of the second period. • „ Seaforth regained the lead just before the end, of the. periOd on a goal by Greg -Murray, but the Lions took control of the game in the third period, outscoring • Seaforth 3-1. The game in Belmont Friday was a wild affair that was stopped after two periods and later resumed. Goderich led the game 5-2 after two periods but the referee and league' convenor called the game because of the number of penalties. Goderich was dressed and . .redy to head home when they were told the final period would be played. Belmont scored four times in the final period in a three minute span to wi'n 6-5 their second victory overjhe Stars this season in the three games between the teams.
