• The 'Goderieh .Lions
defeated the previously
undefeated Seaforth Pee
Wees 6-5 in WOAA hockey
action here last 'Thur-
sday.
The Lions' league
record now stands at 15
wins and two losses.
Seaforth staried• off
fast, opening up a three -
goal lead in the first
period on goals by David
Mclllwain, Chris Cardno
and Kevin Melady. At
that point it looked as
though the teams might
be, staging a repeat
perforrnattee of their only
other meeting this season
when Seaforth jumped off
to an 8-1 lead over the
Lions, . only to" see the
Ijons come back with a
rally which fell short,
with Seaforth winning 10-
8.
However, this time the
Lions had other Ideas: •A-

The Lions played a
strong game, checking
consistently and moving
the puck well as they
prepare for their entry
into OMHA playoffs.

a game postponed earlier

The Goderich Gee Gees was once again led by

Star Juveniles lost their
final game . of the
Shamrock' League
camping 6-5 to Belmont
Friday and Monday they
'defeated Kitchener 5-3 in
exhibition play.
The game in Belmont
Friday was a wild affair
that was stopped after
two periods and later
resumed.
Goderich led the game
5-2 after two periods but
the referee and league'
convenor called the game
because of the number of
penalties. Goderich was
dressed and . .redy to
head home when they
were told the final period
would be played.
Belmont scored four
times in the final period
in a three minute span to
wi'n 6-5 their second
victory overjhe Stars this
season in the three games
between the teams.
The loss leaves the
Stars' with 14 wins and '
two Aosses in their 16 -
game schedule. Belmont
is one point behind with 13
wins, one loss and a tie.
The referee and con-
venor called the game
after two -periods after
Goderich was assessed 16 ,
minor penalties, two
misconducts, ,a, five-,
minute spearing major
and a match misconduct.
Belmont was tagged with
17 minor penalties, a five;
minute spearing in-
fraction and a match
penalty.
Each' team picked up
three minor penalties in
the final period.
