There were akk jubds if little voices involved in the production when the Holmesville Public
Schol presented their Christmas concert, December 19. Here the little sheep impressed the
audience with their singing voices, from left to right, Jenny Kuntz, Jason Nakamura, Dean

Broomball article was
unfair to sport and players
Dear editor,
The reference to the "Broomball is bar-
baric" article in the Dec. 18 issue.
I would like to set a few things straight.
First off, the only equipment that is man-
datory is a helmet, broomball shoes and a
broomball stick. Elbow pads, knee pads and
shin pads are all optional. Cooperalls and
shoulder pads do not even exist. All players
must be 18, if they are younger they must
have a signed parent's consent.
The broomball shoe is a running shoe with
a thick orange rubber sole. Some have suc-
tion cups and others have little nibs on the
sole. This rubber sole is definitely not for
balance, but for gripping the ice for running.
Body contact is not any worse than what you
find in hockey.
All rules are enforced. Fighting players
are ejected from the game and must face a
disciplinary committee of CWOB or OBA.
All referees are respected.
The source and reporter of this article was
badly misinformed about the sport. Neither
party has a clue as to what they were talking
about.
I really feel the Signal -Star owes all
broomball players an appology and also a
retraction.
