1910, he was a son of the late Samuel Reid of
q,. Ashfield Township and the former Matilda
Jarvis of West Wawanosh Township.
Me married the former Laura Mae Con -
gram in 1945 who predeceased him. He mar-
ried the former Gladys Miller of Seaforth in
1978.
Besides his wife, Gladys, he is survived by
a daughter, Marion, Mrs. Peter Keil of Cor-
rie and three sons, Lloyd of Point Clark,
Keith of Seaforth and Murray of Toronto. He
is also survived by his stepchildren, Dick
Eisler, Mary Hogue, Doris Ellison, George
Barwick and Bill Barwick, all of Goderich,
Bob Barwick of Orangeville, Jack and Bill
Eisler of Seaforth and Lloyd Eisler of Kit-
chener, 29 grandchildren and 21 great
grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Evelyn,
Mrs. Peter Cook of Lucknow, Ruby, Mrs.
Charles McDonald and Doris, Mrs. William
Humphrey, all of Lucknow and Lorna, Mrs.
Gerry Hudson of London.
He was predeceased by his first wife,
Laura Congram and a son, Grant in 1948.
The Orange and Black Knights held a ser-
vice at the Stiles Funeral Home in Goderich
on Tuesday, November 26, 1985 at 9 p.m.
The funeral 'service was conducted from
the Stiles Funeral Home in Goderich on
Wednesday, November 27, 1985 at 2 p.m. by
Rev. G. L. Royal of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Goderich.
Flowerbearers were Dick Eisler, Ron
Pennington and George Barwick.
Pallbearers were Jim Reid, Doug
Hackett, Bob Cook, Major Youngblut and
Bob Glen.
Burial in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.

Lottie M. Pope of R. 6, Goderich died on
Saturday, December 7, 1985 at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital at the age of
95.
A member of the United Church, she was
born in Martinville, Quebec on November 8,
1890, a daughter of the late Lysander Davis
and Jane Groome.
She is survived by two sons, Richard
(Dick) Buchanan and his wife, Marie of R.
6, Goderich and James Pope and his wife,
Bernadette of Waterloo, Quebec. She is also
survived by 15 grandchildren, 31 great
grandchildren and 12 great great grand-
children.
She was predeceased by her first hus-
band, Alexander Buchanan and her second
husband, Edwin B. Pope.
She was also predeceased by a daughter,
Velma Lowson, a son, Edwin Pope and a
brother, Eugene Davis.
A funeral service was held at the Mc-
Callum Funeral Home in Goderich at 7:30
p.m. on Monday, December 9, 1985 con-
ducted by Rev. Robert O. Ball of North
Street United Church. Transfer was then
made to the Cass Funeral Home, Lennox-
ville, Quebec where a funeral service was
held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 12,
1985 conducted by Rev. Douglas Warren.
Burial in Compton Cemetery, Compton,
Quebec.
JAMES ALPHONSE LEDDY
James Alphonse Leddy, who was born in
West Wawanosh township in 1895, died in
Clinton Hospital on November 23. Active as
a farmer in the township until his retire-
ment to Wingham ten years ago, he had a

Many people attended the euchre party at
Christ Church Friday, December 6. Sandra
Dixon and Tom Dickson received prizes for
ladies and men's low score and Charlie
Crawford and Mary Maize received prizes
for men's and ladies' high score. Prizes
donated by Petrie's General Store and
Courtney's Confectionery.
During the evening the 150th lottery
tickets were drawn by Art Stewart and the
winners are: Jennifer Dalton of Kintail -
$300; Ron Pennington of Goderich - $100, and
Barry McDonagh of Lucknow - $100. The
next euchre party and lottery draw will be
held January 3rd in the church basement.
Men wishing to enter the beard and
mustache growing contest may register at
the euchre party Jan. 3. The judging will
take place during the 150th celebrations.
A speedy recovery is wished to Viola
Petrie who is a patient in the Goderich
Hospital. She was definitely missed at the
euchre party Friday night.
Patty is looking for a tie that someone
took out of Petrie's store and Tom has been

The Port Albert Pirates hockey team won
a recent game against the Kintail Flyers
with a score of 7-1.
Christ Church, Port Albert will be holding
their Carol Service and Potluck Supper Sun
day, Dec. 15. The congregation looks for-
ward to hearing St. George's Church Choir
who will be attending the service.
Tricia Doherty celebrated her birthday
representing a quarter of a century Satur-
day, Dec. 7.
particular regard for horses. Retaining his
driving license until a few months ago Jim
Leddy was an ardent fan and faithful atten-
dant at district harness racing events.
Jim had a wide circle of acquaintances
and was known for his gentle Irish% wit and
optimism. He was devoted to farming and
took particular care to encourage young
men and women taking up farming as
careers in the area. He had a deep personal
regard for St. Augustine R.C. Church which
he had watched being built in 1903.
Reverend Frank Dentinger, celebrant of
the funeral mass at St. Augustine on ,
Wednesday, November 27 spoke of the
material assistance that Jim had given in
the upkeep and renovation of the edifice.
Con -celebrating the funeral mass were
the Reverend Stan Soltysie of Sacred Heart
Church, Wingham and the Reverend Ed-
ward Dentinger of St.. Joseph's Church,
Kingsbridge. Also present in the sanctuary
was the Reverend John Mooney of Port
Burwell, former pastor in Wingham.
Pallbearers were Stuart Chamney, Ted
Robinson, Dennis Leddy, Bert Moss, Wes
Jefferson and Bernard Boyle. Steve and
Dean Tiffin were altar boys and Christine
Stapleton was the organist. Interment was
in St. Angustine Cemetery. Flowerbearers
were Bili Leddy, Gordon Foran.
Jim Leddy is survived by his wife
Margaret (nee Jefferson); a sister, Sara
Anstett of Wingham and brother Raymond
of Lucknow.
MARIUS ABRAHAM BLOK
Marius Abraham Blok died at the Ross
Memorial Hospital in Lindsay Monday, Dec.
2. He was 89.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kay)
Blok of Lindsay. He was predeceased by his
wife Margaret in Goderich, where he resid-
ed for a number of years before moving to
the Lindsay area.
A private family service was held
Wednesday, Dec. 5 in Lindsay.
