Brian Moody, second in league scoring,
led Bedford to the win over the Jets with
two goals and one assist. Phil Paquette
and Willie Denomme had the other goals.
The game of the week was Sunday as
Bedford overcame a 4-2 deficit after two
periods outscoring Green Machine 4-1 in
the final period to claim a 6-5 victory. Tim
Doherty, D. Erb, Paul Corriveau, Jerry
Rozendal, Ron Corriveau and Mark

Nisbet, Gary Nicholson, Jim Hayter and
John Peet scored one goal apiece.
The Raiders followed that up with a 6.3
win over Hodges Monday as Schoemaker
scored two goals and assisted on a third.
John and Harold Peet, Len Kolkman and
Nisbet added one goal apiece.

two assists and team-mates Gaynor and
Roultson added one goal apiece.

Lion peewees
win sixth
straight game
The Goderich Lions Peewees ran its
undefeated streak to six games with an 8-1
victory over Thamesford here Saturday.
The Lions dominated the game from the
opening whistle, took an early lead and
never gave it up. Tim Harrison and Andre
Cauchi led the team offensively with three
points each. Harrison had two goals and an
assist while Cauchi scored one goal and
assisted on twp others.
The other Lion goal scorers were Brian
Lane with two while Paul Hamilton, Chris
O'Neil and Shawn Talbot scored one goal
apiece. Jeff Hodges, Jean Paul Cauchi,
Lonnie Rumig, Mike Stegenstad and Kevin
Moss each assisted on a Lion goal.
Goaltender Bob Lumley lost his shutout
late in the third period on a difficult shot in
front of the net.
The Goderich Lion Peewees hit the road
for two games this weekend playing in
Parkhill Friday and Strathroy Saturday.
Midget win
streak ends
with 5-4 loss
On Saturday, November 3 1985, the
-Goderich Legion Midgets three game winn-
ing streak came to an end with a 5-4 loss to
Exeter in a closely played game in
Goderich. The Midgets record is now three
wins and four losses.
Goderich opened the scoring in the first
period on a goal by Brian Chambers
assisted by Jim Beattie and Dave Duncan.
Exeter then scored two goals to take the
lead and Goderich answered with a goal by
Dave Duncan assisted by Jim Beattie to tie
the score. In the closing minute of the
period, Exeter scored again to take a 3-2
lead.
In the second period, Goderich was
outscored 2-1 by Exeter with Matt Wilkinson
scoring Goderich's goal assisted by Brent
Fowler. Goderich had a goal disallowed
which would later prove to be the margin of
victory for Exeter.
At 5:39 of the third period, Darrell Durnin
scored Goderich's fourth goal assisted by
Dave Duncan and Ian MacKinnon. During
the period, Brent Fowler hit the goal post
which with a little bit of luck, along with the
disallowed goal in the second period would
have given Goderich the victory. At the
other end of the rink, Gord MacInnis made
several fine saves to keep Goderich close.
Squash Club
honors champs
The Goderich Squash Club honored its
individual champions at the group's annual
dinner meeting at the Bedford Hotel
recently.
Trophy presentations were made to
ladie's champion, Erika Gemmill and men's
A division champion, Mike Dawson. Jackie
Harrison and Mike Lapaine were runnersup
in their respective divisions. Don Kent won
the B division title while Eric Kirk finished
second.
Gemmill and Dawson combined to win the
Don Longwell Trophy.

Atoms to win
The Goderich Atom As scored three
goals in just over two minutes at the start
of the third period en route to a 4-1 win over
Thamesford in Shamrock League play
here Saturday.
The teams played through a scoreless
first period and Bill Ingham scored the
only goal of the second period as Goderich
clung to a one -goal lead heading into the
final period. Jason Jeffrey assisted on the
play'
Goderich broke the game open early in
the third period scoring three straight
goals in just over two minutes to increase
its lead to four goals. Chris Dickson
started the scoring parade after 57 seconds
of play scoring on an unassisted effort.
Todd Papple followed with the third
Goderich goal from Jasn Cook and less
than a minute later, Andrew McLarty
boosted Goderich into a four -goal lead with
Jeffrey assisting.
Thamesford ruined Jason Duckworth's
shutout bid with a goal midway through
the final period.
