submit nominations for the awards, are in-
vited to contact their local Chief of Police
for more information.
The Ministry of the Solicitor General
believes that everyone can take precautions
to protect themseleves from crime.
Therefore, it has developed four brochures
dealing with crimeproofing tips for the
public — steps citizens can take to help
eliminate the chances of becoming victims
of crime. One contains crime prevention in-
formation for women and another deals with
crimeproofing for seniors.
Two new pamphlets are available this
year: one teaches parents how to
crimeproof their children and the other
deals with the subject of child sexual abuse.
The Ministry has also produced a new kit to
help prevent armed robbery.
The Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor
General is responsible for law enforcement
and public safety in the province. Crime
Prevention Week in Ontario is organized by
the Ministry in co-operation with local
police departments and citizen's groups.
