if you are thinl1ing about 'W ceding a
Sailor game later in the season, don't be sur-

schedule is Structured in such a way that the
Sailors play the majority of their home
games at the beginning of the season. Then
theyareorirthe road for the majority of their
gamesinthe second half of the season.
In November they play four home games.
This Friday night, Nov. 1 would be an oppor-
tune time to take in some action when the
Sailors host the first place Hanover Barons.
If they play like they have in the last two
games then it should be quite a contest.
They play two home games in December
and January and only one in February.
I'm not saying that the Sailors won't lose
another game all season or that they are a
flawless hockey team, but what I am saying
is that they have worked hard to become a
Sorry for th! error
This past week as I .was sorting through
the, correspendance that came across my
desk. I noticed that I was included in the
Goderich Elevator Bantam game write up.
Most would be flattered, but I was a little
shocked.
Here is what the end of the game sheet
said.
"In last weeks paper it was reported by a
writer in the Signal -Star sports department,
that in a game against Strathroy there were
90 minutes in penalties and that the
Elevators took most of these minutes. Also
it was Stated that the game was played in
Strathroy. In actual fact the game was
played in Goderich and there was a total of
50 minutes in penalties with Goderich taking
28 minutes."

I cannot read arable, pig-latip or any
other foreign language, although I did take a
little French in high school. The seoresheet
in question, read like something from
another planet. If one has to spend 30
minutes deciphering the coded messages to
find out where the game is played,
something has to be done.
The scoresheets should have the date at
the top and the score clearly marked. The
players numbers who score goals should be
clearly visible in the appropriate area on the
score sheet.
I also invite correspondence from some of
the leagues. The week the mistake in the
penalty minutes was made, I had to go
through approximately 22 different score
sheets.
Cheerleading Clinic to be held
Final plans have been made for the 5th
Annual Ontario One Day Cheerleader Clinic
to be held at Martingrove Collegiate In-
stitute, 50 Winterton Street, Etobicoke,
( Toronto) Ontario on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Organizer of the clinic, Susan Henderson,
Cheerleader Advisor at Westway High
School in Weston, said she is pleased to have
the World Cheerleader Council return for
the annual clinic because it provides an op-
portunity for area students to receive in-
struction from this Internationally known
staff of professional cheerleaders.
Henderson explained that the WCC offers
a program of cheers, chants, songs, pom
pom routines, technique, crowd control,
sportsmanship, appearances, conduct and.
when and what to yell.
The World Cheerleader Council is con-
sidered one of the foremost Cheerleader
Organizations in the World. Their staff of,
college and professional cheerleaders have
traveled throughout the United States and
Canada conducting clinics and camps for
over 14 years.
The program will begin at 9 a.m. and end
at 3:30 p.m. Lunch is included in the clinic

Ontario riders compete in
Local Ontraio riders travelled to Drum-
monville, Quebec to compete in The
O'Keefe ATV Indoor Supercross to take on
the wild and crazy riders from across
Quebec.
Competing in the four-wheel class were
Steve Boyd from Gownastown, Chris Baren-
dregt from Pt. Stanley and Chuck Collins
from Varna. All three riders were on Suzuki
Quadracers. Collins also rode in the Expert
0-250cc three-wheeler class.
Steve Boyd pulled the hole -shot in his
qualifying race and lead for four laps until
he went wide on a sliding corner and was
taken by a Quebec rider on the inside. He
settled for second position, which moved
him into the quarter finals. At the start of
that race Boyd had a bad start and was not
able to make up the difference. He finished
in fourth place but this did not give him the
chance to go on.
Chris Barendregt and Chuck Collins went
head to head in the third qualifier, Collins
pulled the hole -shot and stayed out front
from start to finish while Barendregt diced
it out with the Quebec rider to finish in third.
Both riders moved on the quarter finals.
Barendregt and Collins riding in separate
quarter and semi finals won all of their
races.
The Final consisted of 10 laps with the best
riders, 2 from Ontario and the rest from
Quebec. Collins started on the inside and
Barendregt was two grids down. Collins
pulled the hole shot and was followed very
closely by a Quebec rider. Barendregt got
caught up in a turn with a couple of riders.
Collins went on to lead the race for 9-1/2 Zaps
registering late will be required to purchase
lunch additionally.
The program is open to all students - ages
12 to 18 - whether elected cheerleaders or in-
dividuals interested in learning more about
cheerleading for future tryouts.
Students interested in obtaining more in-
formation about the clinic, or to register,
should contact Susan Henderson, Westway
High School, 10 Denfield Street, Weston, On-
tario, M9R 3H1 or call 416-248-0223. They
may also contact the WCC, 7001 Wildgrove,
Dallas, Texas 75214 - phone 214-321-4331.
Deadline for registration is Nov. 11.

when on the last turn he was bumped off the
track by the second place rider, who went on
to first place. Collins got back on the track
out of the straw bales to take second position
overall in the four wheel class. Barendregt
finished fifth overall.
In the Expert 0-250cc 3 Wheel class Collins
the only Ontario rider competing won his
qualifier, quarter final and semi-final. In
the final which was run after the 4 wheel
final, Collins still upset about the disappoin-
ting second place finish in the 4 wheel final,
didn't get the hole shot but was able to pass
the leader in the whoop -de -dos to take the
lead. Daniel Couture riding a very- well
prepared Honda tried to apply some
pressure to the first place Collins but there
was no way that Collins was going to give up
the victory in this class.
