N • w d; mina 11 Arts Festival its Octobe Santa Claus has booked several special visits to 'Clinton this year. He will be. holding his big party ,of the season, on Satur- day, December 7 at the Town Hall Auditorium from 2 to 4 p.m. Santa comes to town This Christmas season Santa Claus has agreed to make several visits to Clinton. Of course, his December 25 journey from the North. Pole will be the highlight of the season, butup until that date, San— ta has arranged to be in Clinton every Saturday afternoon to visit with the local boys and girls and give out candy canes. Santa Claus will hold- his big Christmas party in Clinton on Saturday, December 7 at the Clinton Town- Hall from 2 .to 4 p.m. There will be bags of candy for the little ones and'an'oppor tunity to take photographs of your child and one's, favorite white bearded friend. Be sure to bring your cafnera along. As well, special children's draws- will be.. held_at 3:30 p.m. Prizes will be gifts donated by BIA merchants. The draw con- test will be start November 15 and ticket boxes . will be available around town. • In the fall of 1984 Clinton celebrated the grand re -opening of its century old town hall. As part of that celebration a weeklong. Fall, Arts., Festival was staged in the newly renovated town hall auditorium. The overwherning success of that event has promoted the town's arts andculture committee to stage a second annual Fall Arts Festival: Tlus year -the cultural feast of entertainment and art will be held from Friday, October 25 to Saturday, November 2. The festival will kick off on Friday, October 25 with a craft show, to be held from 6-10 p.m. and again on Saturday, Oc- tober 26 from 9 a.m. to.5 p.m. The craft.show. prornises to offer a unique display of hand- crafted items from original paintings to knitted afghans, Christmas decorations to wooden toys and. accessories. Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 is designated as children's time. As part of the Fall Arts Festival a puppet show will be staged in the auditor"iuin on Monday morning. On Tuesday hundreds of area school children will be enter- tained by a theatrical production, to be staged from 10-11 a.m., 1-2 p.m. and 2:15-3:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 30 marks a. change in pace in the weeklong festival, The festivarwill take.,on a -political note as the Clinton All Candidates' Night iss.held; in,conjunction with the November 12 municipal election:. Ratepayers . are invited to take part in this open forum discussion when candidates in the upcoming election wile ;make, presentations regarding their aims as a councii merhber and -lopes for the town in the future. - Thursday, October 31 -an art show will be staged from 9 a.m. to 6.p.m.-This daylong showing will feature the works of many well known area -artists.' - Friday, November:l'from 7-10 p.m. is Variety Night. This proved:to be one of themost popular events at last -year's Fall Arts Festival as local dancers; singers and comedians took to the stage. A full house -audience took in the exclusive Clinton - showing. The finale to the weeklong celebration is on Saturday, November 2 when the Centralfluron Secondary School music and draxria students stage a a cabaret performance.
