Robertson, of Toronto, one daughter Helen M. Bartram; of London and 11 grandchildren. 4- The funeral service and committal was held in the chapel of Stiles Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 26 with Rev. Robert O. Ball, of North Street United Church officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies' Auxiliary to Branch 109 Goderich held a ser- vice on Wednesday night. OLIVE REEVES Olive Reeves, 76, of 131 Albert St., Strat- ford, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1985 at the Rehabilitation and Extended Care Unit of the Stratford General Hospital. Born it. D nnybroOk in ; Wawanosh Township, she was the loth teir of toe date .Iain Jefferson and the forget ,christens Cameron,. .She graduated from Woodstock General Hospital as a registered nurse in. 1933 and later became assistant director at Stratford General Hospital: She then nursed at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto until 1955 when she married George Arthur Reeves who predeceased her July 20, 1979. The couple lived in Toronto until 1972 when they moved to Stratford. She had served overseas with the Nurses' Division in Belgium during the Second World War. She was a member of the Parkview United Church. Surviving are one stepdaughter Doreen, Mrs. Gordon Robinson, of Scarborough, two brothers Sam Jefferson;", of Goderich and Pete Jefferson, of Donnybrook, two sisters Margaret Leddy, of Wingham and Gladys Jefferson, of the People Care Centre, Strat- ford, four grandchildren Carol Forsythe, Douglas Robinson, Kenneth and Larry Reeves and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by six brothers George, Cameron, Joseph, Gordon, John and Charles and one sister Irene. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, Stratford with Rev. Ann Ross officiating. In- terment Avondale Cemetery. Donations to the Stratford General Hospital building fund or the charity of one's choice will be accepted as expressions of sympathy. Madonna wins writing prize Congratulations go from the community to Madonna Bradley, daughter of Jim and Evelyn Bradley of the Amberley area and a Grade 8 student at Brookside School. Madonna won two first prizes for her creative writing for the Grade 7 class. These prizes were won at the Dungannon and Lucknow Fall Fairs. For Dungannon she wrote "If I Were Granted Three Wishes" and for Lucknow she wrote "The Most Embarrassing Experience Of My Life.". Congratulations, Madonna. Visiting with Rhetta MacLennan recent- ly were her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Peggy Jardine of Harriston. On qie weekend, Cecil and James Webster of Waterloo joined up with brother-in-law Atlee Wise of Richfield, Ohio, and the three of them spent the weekend in Huntsville area. They visited at Lake of Bays where Atlee had spent so many of his summers before he and Jean were married. On Sunday evening Atlee came to visit lis in-laws Kae and Wellington Webster, and left Monday morning fpr Ohio. Kenneth Wilkins, son of Charles and Mayme Wilkins, left Thursday morning for Ridgetown where he will be entering the Ridgetown Agricultural College for his first term. Tuesday visitors with Charles and Mayme Wilkins were Mr. and Mrs. Ken Flack of Sebringville and Charlie's brother-in-law, Ken Weaver of Sudbury. On Sept. 23 Mayme Wilkins, with her sister and brother-in-law Charles and Ruby Reach of Woodstock, visited Mayme and Ruby's mother, Stella Irwin and brother Lloyd. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb on Sept. 29 were Mrs. Robb's cousins; Wilfred and Ruth Walker of Belgrave. On the weekend Dorothy Finlayson had her daughter, son-in-law and grandson, John Balch, Caroli Finlayson and Alex- ander of Toronto for a visit. The community would like to send its congratulations to Elaine Helen Mac- Tavish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan MacTavish, and Cameron John Courtney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Courtney of Point Clark, on their upcoming marriage which will take place on Oct. 5, at St. An- drews' United Church at 4 p.m. A recep- tion will follow at the Ripley Complex. On Oct. 21 there was a two vehicle colli- sion east of Amberley on Highway 86 at the comer known as the MacDonald sideroad. At the time of writing, four persons still remain in hospital. Robert (Mac) Webster of 76 Princess Street, Kincardine, driver of the eastbound car, is in the Kincardine hospital with many bumps and bruises. His wife Lauretta is in St. Joseph's Hospital in London with two broken legs and many cuts and bruises. The driver of the second car, David Hynes of R.R. 2, Wingham, is in satisfac- tory condition ir? the, Wingham Hospital. His f �'assehger, Lee Grove 58 of '10 Carling . Terrace, Wingham, was transferred to University Hospital, London and is reported to be in satisfactory condition. It is reported the Webster car was struck near the front of the passenger side when it turned left in front of the Hynes' vehicle. Mr. Webster (Mac) is well-known in the area. He was raised and spent most of his early life m the Lucknow area. And for a number of years he has been the drummer for the Kincardine. Pipe Band. Garry and Betty Jones were in Thorn - dale on the weekend where they attended the Thorndale Fall Fair and visited with many of their friends and relatives in the area.
