Mrs. Snider was unable to attend. Snider has been the camp manager and treasurer since 1950 and has also been treasurer of Huron Presbytery and then Huron -Perth Prebytery of the United Church for over 50 years. Seen making the presentation is Rev. Jim Bechtel, Clinton, chairman, and Muriel Conites, Belga -ave, secretary of the camp board. Goderich woman dies BEATRICE MARY MCGEE Beatrice Mary McGee, 84, of Goderich died Tuesday, June 18, 1985 at Maitland Manor Nursing Home. Daughter of the late John Chisholm and the former Mary Carney, she was born Aug. 29, 1900 in Colborne Township. She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Wesley McGee, one sister Helen, Mrs. Wilfred Smith and four brothers Rev. • Harry, John, Thomas and Joseph Chisholm. Surviving are her children Helen and her husband Ernest Hill, of London, Maxine and her husband Harold Taylor, of Wingham, Dolores and her husband Robert Hoy, of Goderich, Cecil and• his wife Verrol, of Toronto, Harold and his wife Eileen, of Nile, Joseph and his wife Barbara, of Goderich. Township and Eugene, of Colborne Township and one brother Benson Chisholm, of Goderich. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 20 at McCallum Funeral Horne with Rev. Joseph Hardy of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery. Pallbearers included Frank McMichael, .Bob Wilson. Harbourne Adams, Clarence Hoy. Ron McPhee and Fred Crawford. EMILY WILKIN • Emily Wilkin, 89, of Goderich died Satur- day, June 22, 1985 at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Daughter of the late James Stevenson and the former Margaret Wallace, she was born in Howick Township on Aug. 8, 1895. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a member and past president of Goderich Women's Institute. She was predeceased by her husband Ar- chie Wilkin, two sisters Anna D'Arcy and Jean Jackson and two brothers Robert and James Stevenson. Surviving are one son George, of Strat- ford, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral and cornmittal services were held at the McCallum Funeral Home on Monday, .June 24 with Rev. G.L. Royal of Knox Presbyterian officiating. Interment Harriston Cemetery. THOMAS SOWERBY Thomas Sowerby, 86, of Goderich Township died Tuesday, June 18, 1985 at the ,Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Son of the late Thomas Sowerby and the former Sarah .Johnston, he was born in Goderich Township on Aug. 4, 1898. A farmer in Goderich Township, he was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, a member of the Maitland Lodge 33 A.F and A.M. where he received his 50 year jewel in 1979 and a member of the Blue Water Chapter 284 O.F,.S. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Davidson, one son Grant and his wife Lyn- da, of Cambridge and two sisters Ella, Mrs. Ernest Bogie and Elizabeth, Mrs. O.N. William "Norman" Shepherd A Clinton and former Hullett Township resident, William "Norman" Shepherd of Huronview died at Stratford General Hospital on June 16. He was 88. Mr. Shepherd was born in Goderich Township on November 3, 1896., the son of William Ferguson Shepherd and Sarah Ball. He was married on April 13, 1921 to Annie Reid at Burns Church, Hullett Township. Mr. Shepherd farmed -in Hullett Township. He was a member of the Wesley Willis United Church, Clinton and the IOOF Clinton Lodge, No. 83. He was predeceased by his wife and is sur- vived by two daughters, Wilma Shepherd of London and Phyllis Hoggart of Goderich. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Patricia and Kevin, both of Toronto. He was predeceased by one sister Margaret Far- quhar. Funeral services were held on June 18 at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home in Clin- ton. Rev. James Bechtel from Wesley Willis officiated. Pallbearers were Murray Reid of Londesboro, Doug Farquhar of RR 1, Clin- ton, Don Youngblut of London, Douglas. Cantelon of Clinton, John Turner of London and Kevin Hoggart of Toronto. Flower bearers were Jim Cox of RR,2, Bayfield and Murray Taylor of Clinton. Interment was held in the Clinton Cemetery. In an obituary for Fred Robinson in last eek's edition of the Signal -Star it was reported that he brought a hockey team. Ted's Pals, to compete in the first Young Canada Peewee Hockey Tournament in 1949. Robinson did; in fact, bring a team to the tournament, but it was not Ted's Pais and it was not in 1949. Robinson, as the headline suggested, was not involved with the creation of the- Young Canada Week.
