Hot Shots
Ron's Shell took advantage of some hot
bats, to pound out a 10-4 win -over Hot Shots,
in a Goderich Ladies Slowpitch League
game, played June 3.
In another June 3 contest, Mac's Milk put
on a mid -game surge and scored 11 runs in
the fourth inning to overpower Not Much 24-
3.
A sixth -inning home run by Patti Johnston
was the big hit for Nile as they out -slugged
Menest 20-12, on June 4.
The Oldtimers put together 29 hits, on the
way to counting a 23-8 victory over North
End Marina, on June 5. Addie Pennie weild-
ed a hot bat, tapping out a pair of triples for
the winners. North End batted out 10 hits in
the game, but still came up short.
Nile held onto a slim one -run lead in the
late going, to squeak by the Hot Shots 3-2, on
June 6. Nile scored all three runs in the fifth
inning, while Hot Shots replied with a run of
their own in their half of the fifth. Hot Shots
squeezed in another run in the seventh, but
the Nile defence closed up after that.
Also on June 6, Sifto blanked Double Blue
16-0 in lopsided contest, played at St.
Mery's'School.
Maitland Trophy
to be contested

The Ladies' Maitland Trophy will be
played for on Saturday, June 22 starting at
10 a.m. Be sure to sign up.
The Ladies' Night winners on Tuesday,
June 4 were: First flight - Marie Huff and
Maxine Martin. Second flight - Bev Jeffrey
and Rosemary Evans. Putts - Marg Evans
with only 12 putts! Great putting, Marg. and
in Third flight - Pat Tyndall, Gwen Trebish,
Irla Stewart and Auleen Curry.
After golf and dinner, the card games con-
tinue to be popular. Last week there were
several tables of .bridge, and another group
had a great time playing Trivial Pursuit. All
ladies are welcome.
Men's Night on Monday, June 3 saw 37
men out on the course. Low Net was Lee
Kirkwood. Second Low Net was Vic Finnie,
and Third Low Net was Murray McGill. Low
Gross was Tony Bedard. Closest to the pin'
was Izzy Bedard.
Other winners - Q. Egener, Jack Hinton,
Doug Hesk, Pete Teichert, .Bob .McDougall,
Bill Ross, and Dave Cornish.
Friday Night the big winners in the
Couples two -ball were Chris Hoffmeyer and
Bill Butler, and second were Pat Wilkinson
and Ed Brissette. In third place - Robbie
Butler and Jack Hoffmeyer. Next Couple's
two -ball is Friday, June 21. Plan to be there.

Grown trees improve course _.
A few years back, in one of the Sunset ar-
ticles there was a remark about everything
looking so green and all those little trees,
that will someday become a nightmare?
Well those small trees have now all
grown, not to be a nightmare, but to make
the course look better than ever and a great
challenge. So lets get out and beat the odds
and stay away from the once -little trees.
Men's, Tues;, June 4, winners were: low
gross for the day, Stan Connelly;• low net for
the day, Lee Kirkwood; first flight low
gross, Ken Straughan; first flight low net,
Dennis Jaynes; second flight low growth,
Phil Arthur; second flight low net, Bert Cor-

on Wed., June 5. Couldn't ask for a better

The next fun two -ball is on June 16,
"Father's Day," or "Men's Night Out" as
we prefer to call it. We are having a pot -luck
supper especially for the men, so ladies
please' bring out your favorite supper dish
for the event. Social Hour starting at 4 p.m.
and nine holes of golf to follow.

CLASSES INCLUDE : Yellow to Maroon - 48.00 for residents & '19.00
for non-residents; Blue to White -'22.00 for residents & '23.00 for non-
residents; Bronze & Bronze Cross - 345:00 for residents & `50.00 for
non-residents -- price includes material and exam fee; Tiny Tots &
Bubblers - `18.00 residents & '19.00 non-residents.
