Colborne Twp farmer dies
MAYE'ITE ANDERSON
Mayette Anderson, 93, of Warren,
Michigan, died Thursday, June 6.
The daughter of Fletcher and Angelina
McCartney, she was predeceased by ht.:
husband Arnold Anderson m 1954.
She was also predeceased by three
brothers Clifford McCartney, of Detroit,
Lorne McCartney, of Goderich and Harvey
McCartney, of Goderich Township and two
sisters Lilian Howard, of Goderich and
Evelyn McCartney, of Detroit.
Surviving are one brother Ernest McCart-
ney, of Dodsland, Saskatchewan, five
nieces, Mary Lomasney, of Garden City,
Michigan, Aileen Scheelha, of Edmonton,
Alta., Lula De Buschere, of Dodsland,
Evelyn Rowland, of Guelph and Mary Mur-
phy, of Clinton and three nephews Clifford
McCartney, of Warren, Michigan, Mervin
McCartney, of Calgary, Alberta and Ron
McCartney, of Goderich.
Funeral services were held on Saturday,
June 8 at Venceyden Funeral Horne in
Grosse Pointe, Michigan.

Barbara Joy (nee Brandon) died
peacefully at her home in Oakville, with her
family, after a brave fight with cancer, on
Thursday, June 6, 1985. Barbara Joy
Pitblado, in her 51st year. Beloved wife of
Wendell (Pit). Loving mother of Wendy,
Tracey, Kim, Scot, Kurt, and Brett, all at
home: Barb was born and raised in
Bayfield, with sisters June Heard, Audrey
Payne, and Shirley Wachhaus, and brothers

135 Dunn St., Oakville on Saturday, June 8.
Carpenter
Charles Carpenter of Conoga Park,
California died on Friday June 7th, 1985 in
his 66 year.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., son of the late
Caroline Copp of Goderich. He is survived
by his wife Kaye, sons Kim of Alaska
Carey, Qeurtney and daughter Charleen of
California and three grandchildren. He is
also survived by brother Eimer of Buffalo,
N.Y. and twin sisters, Verna, Mrs. Wilfred
Glazier, Clinton, Ontario and Vera, Mrs.
Harold Larder, Goderich, Ontario.
VIOLET E, LARDER
Violet E. Larder, 64, of 121 Dudhope Ave.,
Cambridge died Friday, May 31, 1985 at
Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Born in Blandford Township on Oct. 27,
1920, she was a retired officer (brigadier) of
the Salvation Array.
Surviving are one sister Edith Lasenby, of
Cambridge and three brothers Harold,
Charles and Wilfred, all of Goderich.
She was predeceased by three brothers.
Funeraltervices were held at the Salva-
tion Army Citadel, Cambridge tin Monday,
June 3. Interment Maitland Cemetery,
Goderich,

the Canadian Cancer Society would be ap-
preciated by the family. Arrangements by
Coutts and Son Funeral Home, 96 Andrew
Street, Cambridge.
LAWRENCE EDWARD BAXTER
Lawrence Edward Baxter, 87, of Maitland
Manor Nursing Home, Goderich died Sun-
day, June 9, 1985 at his residence.
The son of the late George Baxter, of
Markham and the former Charlotte Ann
Reid, of Belleville, he was born in Ashfield
Township on Aug. 8, 1897. A retired farmer
in Colborne Township, he was also a
member of the Benmiller United Church.
Surviving are one brother Cecil, of
Aylmer and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters Mary
Elizabeth, Mrs. William Turton and
Charlotte Ann (Annie) Baxter and three
brothers William, George and Harvey.
Funeral services were held in the chapel
of Stiles Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11
with Rev. John D.M. Wood of Benmiller
United and Victoria Street United Church
officiating: Interment Colborne Cemetery.
Pallbearers included great nephews Ed-
ward Turton, Gary Baxter, Walter Lepp-
ington, John Leppington, Robert Etue Jr.
and Jerry Durst.

The focal point of Forestry in Canada,
High Uourt will De held in Montreal on July
8, 9 and 10. Court Fascination hopes to send
two delegates.
Other future events announced were
District Council at Benmiller on June 18, the
Birthday Party at Kinburn at 6:30 p.m. on
June 26 and the next lodge meeting on July
24.
Following the meeting a lively Auction

many plants and much delicious home bak-
ing changed hands.
