Litter bug spca
Dear Mr. Latter Big,
Whew! woke up last Saturday morning I
looked put my window, the sky was blue, the
birds were singing and the Lake was still.
My big slater and I ran downstairs and
asked mommy if we could go to the beach
with a picnic lunch, like she had promised
the night before.
Now I ask you, how could she refuse?
It must have taken her half an hour to feed
us and get everything ready. We thought
surely the day would be over before she was
finally ready. Thanks to you MR. LITTER
BUG, it took forever to get there.
Mommy kept stopping to pick up broken
glass that YOU so thoughtlessly smashed all
around our lovely river and beach area.

.'day be4
'When we finally got to where we thought
the LITTER BUGS had not yet been we
unloaded our sand toys and headed for the
water. Mommy helped us make all sorts of
animals and sand castles before we got out
our lunch.
When we finished eating we put all our
garbage into an amazing little thing called a
garbage bag, but I don't expect you have a
clue what that is, or even looks like.
The next thing I knew my little toes were
really. 'hurting and there was blood
everywhere. Mommy ran with me in her
arms all the way home to the ear and we
headed for Goderich hospital where I
received a needle and stitches.
Thanks to the wonderful nurses and a nice
doctor I'm OK now except for a sore .(oat.
SO, MR. LI'r1'ER BUG, PLEASE DON'T
LITTER! You have ruined my day, the
beach; and my little foot.
Please don't hurt me anyei e."
With dearest thanks for whatever you can
do for me and everyone else who visits here.
Thanks go to helpers and 40 kids
Dear editor,
Would you please convey on behalf of the
Art Kids and myself a most sincere thank -
you to Jane Netzke, Marg Bushell, and
Marian Doucette- for their assistance with
this year's program.
Jane continues to support the program
with her enthusiasm and interest; Marg
lends the library for two weeks for our an-
nual show; and Marian shares her expertise
and professionalism with puppetry. These
three people are very important to me for
not only do they help to facilitate the pro-
gram but they offer their friendship, en-
couragement and ideas. Thank you'.

Diabetes drive nets $2,000 in Goderich area
Dear editor,
I would like to take this opportunity w
thank all those local businesses and indiv-
duals who contributed generously, making
our recent campaign a success. The Cana-
dian Diabetes Association raised over two
thousand dollars locally.
Diabetes affects over one million Cana-
dians. The Canadian Diabetes Association's
goal is to find the cause and eventual cure
for Diabetes, while supplying the diabetic,
with information and educational material
. to aid in day,, to day control. To this end, we
are having an open information evening at
the Kincardine Hospital, Thursday May 16,
at 8:00. We will be having demonstrations of
exciting new aids for diabetics, including a
"syringeless" insulin injector, insulin
pump, blood glucose monitor, and sleep sen-
sor.
With the support of all the community we
will reach our goals. -
Lastly, I would lake to thank this paper for
its support. It is appreciated.
Sincerely,

MS Carnation Day was major success
Dear editor,
We are once again very pleased to an-
nounce that our 1985 Multiple Sclerosis Car-
nation Campaign was an outstanding suc-
cess. As members of the Multiple Sclerosis
Society of Canada, we would like to thank all
° those who supported us during our Carna-
tion Campaign. Your continued support
helped us to 'Once again raise a substantial
amount of money which will be forwarded to
the M.S. Society to be used for further
research into M.S. and for patient care ser-
vices.
Hopefully research will soon supply
answers that will lead to the eradication of
this mysterious disease which interferes
with the brain's ability to control such
everyday functions as speaking, walking.
and seeing. It can result in loss of co-
ordination, chronic fatigue, hearing and
speech impediments and paralysis. When
M.S. is finally beaten we will all be winners.
Personally we would like to thank those
who volunteered their time and effort which
helped to make the campaign the success it.

Easter Sealers thank canvassers
near editor,
Helping more than 6,700 physically disabl-
ed children in Ontario to progress in life is
the primary goal of The Easter Seal Society.
Whether this takes the form of the provi-
sion of a wheelchair, an artificial limb, a
camping holiday, transportation to and
from treatment centres, the benefits of
research programs, or a home visit by an
Easter Seal Nurse, the Society remains
committed to supporting children and their
families - a privilege which has been main-
ned since our inception in 1922.
The many services provided by The
Easter Seal Society would not be possible
without the generosity of indviduals and
businesses across the province who, care
about the quality of life available to children
with physical handicaps. They would also be
impossible if not for the continued volunteer
commitment of our. 235 affiliated Easter
Seal Service Clubs who spearhead local fund
raising campaigns, and administer Easter
Seal funds on behalf of children living in
their respective communities.
The Lions Club of Goderich has been an
active partner with Easter Seals since 1947.
Throughout these years, many past and pre-
sent members have sacrificed long hours
and determined efforts to help children and
their families. We know this exceptional
record of service is one which all of the club
members take pride in sharing.
Our heartfelt thanks to the entire com-
munity of Goderich for backing the
thousands of young fighters served by
Easter Seals through your contributions to
the 1985 Easter Seal Campaign.
Sincerely yours,
F. Howard Keast
