Traditionally served in Holland on New,
Year's Eve,Oliebollen are deep fried,
doughnut -lime balls, The sweet treats are
filled with raisins or apples and are
coated in icing sugar. The best way to eat
Oliebollen is het, right from the cooker
and this is the way they're served at
Klompen Feest,Over 2,500 Oliebollen are
sold at this booth every year,
The Dutch food booth also serves cro-
quettes. These tasty snacks are made
from an egg and bread Crumb batter, fill-
ed with turkey or beef. Like Oliebollen
these too are best eaten hot and at
Klompen Feest are served right from the
pot to your plate. More than 1,400 cor-
quettes are sold at the feest.
As well the food booth features smoked
fish, Dutch sausages and salted herrings.
Profits made y the food sales to back
to the church and the Clinton and District
Christian School. Donations have also
been make to Clinton Public Hospital.
The booth is a popular one at Klompen
Feest and you should be prepared to wait
a few minutes -for your snacks, evettlkith
the substantial increase in size. But rest
assured, the wait will definitely be worth
your time.
