CGIT plans bake sale
The meeting opened on April 11 with the
C.G.I.T. purpose and hymn with eight
members present. Recipes were collected
for the recipe book. Shannon McNeil and
Angela Glenn prepared a game which all en-
joyed. Jacqui Dawson and Sherry Hodges
will bring one next week. The member's also
practised the Jamboree Song.
Ellen Errington read bible verses and a
0 -story about Easter for the worship. • The
members sang a hymn,
There was, a discussion about cleaning up
the church lawn, having a guest speaker and
more about Algonquin Park. The meeting
ended with taps.
Ten C,G,I.T. members opened the
meeting with the purpose and hymn on April
18. MP T^mhoree Song was practispd Tisa
Scott read the minutes from the last
meeting.
The members discussed having Mr. Grant
Elson as a guest speaker on May 2. His topic
is drugs and drug abuse. The girls decided
to write down any questions they might)
have. We decided to invite the young people
and parents from Nile, Trinity and Don-
nybrook churches.
Jacqui Dawson and Sherry • Hodges
prepared a game. Cindy Robson read a
scripture story and prayer on the topic of
Gossip. The booth on April 20 was discussed
and the members decided to have a bake
table to make extra money. The members
played another game and closed the
meeting with taps.
Grade 2 studentsstudy
Native people in class

Mrs. Ottewell was the guest story reader
in Mrs. Worsell's Grade Three class this
week.
The students in Grade two, Room six have
begun a study of the five regions of Canada
where Native People Live. They've been
busy drawing pictures and maps, as well as
reading stories about Indians.
The two grade one classes visited the
Garden Brothers Circus on Friday, April 19.
Mrs. Cameron's kindergarten class has
been busy making spring flowers, cow pup-
pets and lady bugs.
Miss Garland's kindergarten clan's has
been working on alphabet trains with their
partners from Mrs. Tebbutt's room.
Mr. Sygi ve's class worked on activities

talked about the changes that Spring brings.
They felt that the best change was that
baseball' season begins.
Mrs. Graham's Grade Four are building
props for the concert. They are also starting
to present their rock mineral projects and
creating designs in art using chalk.
Mrs. Blake had good attendance at Story
Book Time this week. The pre-schoolers
learned about cats by two books which Mrs.
Blake read on the subject. Mrs. Graham's
class helped the pre-schoolers make paper
cats. "
Mrs. Bere spoke to the parents of the pre-
schoolers about skills children must have in
order to be ready to learn to read. She show-
ed some of the ways used to tell whether
children had acquired these skills.

A Bible Study meeting of the Ashfield
Presbyterian Church was held Wednesday
morning. at the home of Mary McLean,
Duncan Thorburn of Amberley has
returned home from hospital recently and is
improving,nicely. Get well soon.
On Friday afternoon Irma Henderson had
a few friends and relatives in for a lovely
lunch. They also viewed the many lovely
shower and wedding presents that were
given to her daughter and son-in-law Brenda
and Gordon who were married recently.
The W.M.S. monthly meeting of the
Ashfield Presbyterian Church was held
Thursday afternoon at the home of Dorothy
Finlayson.
Charles Mayme and Ken Wilkins had
some of their fainly with them for dinner on
Thursday evening. Three of the family are
celebrating birthdays. They are; Jack,
Sharon and Larry. Happy birthday.
Visiting with Dorothy Finlayson on the
weekend was her son and daughter-in-law
Ian and Christina Finlayson of London.
The community would like to send get well
wishes to Lorne Luther who is under the
weather. Get well quick Lorne.
There are a number of local farmers now
out on the land. Everyone take heart, the
weather will improve soon.

The community would like to welcome An-
ton Schoenberger's• mother into the com-
munity.Mrs. Schoenberger has come to the
area from Germany. Anton is olithe former
Jim MacKenzie farm.
Barry, and Betty Jones were in Cambridge
on Sunday to attend the 40th wedding an-
niversary of Betty's aunt and uncle Bill and
Marion Longdown.
Sherry Jones of Guelph daughter of Barry
and Betty Jones was at home for a few days
to study for exams.
