The price ofafireworks has increased each year. Monies from the town and from any government grant cover only the cost of a medium-sized firework display. As we hope to make our annual display an attraction for visitors to our community, we are seeking the support of business and private citizens alike. A letter is going out to businesses, in- dustry and service clubs seeking donations to purchase fireworks to enable our display Herman, Margaret Hill and Diane Mitchelrnore and is -directed ►y ' William Neal and Assistant Director June Hill. The play is based on the true story of a Jewish family forced to hide from the Nazis dui- big World War H. (photo by Patrick Raftis) fireworks display LETTERS Ito to be as spectacular as possible. We are also seeking donations for citizens. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. We are suggesting that rather than purchase the family fireworks for May 24th weekend that a donation be made towards our annual display. Pat King Chairman Firework Committee Young people should be encouraged Dear editor; Again about the hot-dog wagon. I believe that young people should be en- couraged to start and run their own show, as much as possible. Look at the paper girls and boys who go out early in the morning and deliver your paper.. It should not stop there. There,,are many more opportunities. Our town shgt d have a special committee to help these youngsters to get started. Then we could boast that we got so many going instead of discouragment. It is very hard t understand why council" voted the way they did. I thought that our sympathy should go first to the little fellow. Why should a giant like the Royal Bank have any pull in our town. This giant has not been too lenient to small entrepeneurs. Look up some quotations by Eugene Whelan. If the Royal Bank does not like their spot an empty one is waiting for them at the mall. • Leave the hot-dog wagon where it is, and do not put it in some place out of the way!
