(Cary) Ross graduated from the Royal Canadian Regiment Battle School on April 2, 1985 at C.F.B. Petawawa. He has been stationed with the First Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment at Wolseley Bar- racks, C.F.B. London, Landon, Ont. Cary is the son- of Murray and Lyn Ross, RR 5, Ridgewood Park. VAN ROOY Joe and Lynn of Ripley are proud to an- nounce the birth of their first child, Kevin John, weighing 7 lbs. 7'/2 ozs. at Kincardine & District General Hospital on Saturday, March 30, 1985. Kevin is the first grandchild for Harold and Betty Anne Elphick of Lucknow and the fifth for John and Jean Van Rooy of Kingsbridge. He is a great grandson for Verna Elphick of Lucknow and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Stobo of Teeswater. Only 12 projects chosen HOLMESVILLF - Over 40 projects were exhibited at the Western Region Science' Fair held April 2 at Goderich Township Community Hall, Holmesville with four area schools competing - Brookside, Col- borne, Holmesville and Robertson Memorial. However only 12 projects could be chosen to advance to the county level (since Grade 6 projects do° not proceed past this regional competition). , Judges admitted it was a difficult choice to make, since all projects were of excellent quality,. and all students participating were to be commended for their efforts. • Those chosen to proceed to the next level were: Grade 7 - Biological 1st Adrienne Bartlett - Holmesville; 2nd Rob Pollock and Matthew Pryce - Robertson; 3rd Alysha Hacon - Robertson.
