What started out to be a simple Wednesday afternoon drive turned out to be very exciting.
While driving past St. Christopher's beach Mr. Glenn Ferguson of 0 b>rittania West caught
sight of a balloon blowing around in the wind. He got out of the car and went after the balloon
and he spotted another once, and let his five-year-old son Nathan find the other one. The
balloons had secret message tags on them. As it turned out they balloons were part of the

The Huron County chapter of Canadian
Parents for French want the school board
to keep French coordinator Damien
Solomon in that position.
Tom Hanrahan of Brussels represented
the Huron chapterat the April 1 meeting of
the Huron County Board of Education.
"It's critical the position be maintain-
ed," said Mr. Hanrahan.
The parent organization praised the
quality of core French in Huron schools
and gave the credit to Mr. Solomon.
"We know Mr. Solomon has proven his
Capabilitiesboth within this county and
throughout the province and we sincerely
hope his place in the administrative staff
of the Huron County Board of Education
will be secure for many years to come,"
said Mr. Hanrahan.
However, director of education Bob
Allan said co-ordinator positions are term
appointments for three years. At the end of
the appointment, co-ordinators go back to
their original positions with the school
board. In Mr. Solomon's case, effective
this September, he will return to South
Huron District high school in Exeter as
department head.
Superintendent of education Arnold
Mathers said both the French and junior
co-ordinator positions are finished at .the
end of this school. They willbe replaced by
two half-time and one full time co-
ordinator.
The full-time co-ordinator, will cover
visual arts programs such as music and
