The theme of our Diamond Jubilee is "PRIDE IN OUR PAST - FAITH IN OUR FUTURE". This year 1985, marks the 60th Anniver- sary of The Royal Canadian Legion, which was founded in 1925 at the Unity Conference held in the city of Winnipeg. Here, 61 delegates from a number of Canadian veterans groups, agreed to accept Union and formed the Canadian Legion. The Domi- nion Charter was granted on July 17, 1926 and Provincial Commands were also chartered during that year. By the end of 1926 the Legion had a membership of 20,000 in 800 branches across Canada..
