Arthur Circle group hears talk on Friendship House St. Patricks decorations and fresh flowers, gave a warmth to the parlour for the Arthur Circle Auxiliary meeting held Mar. 18, Winnie Walters' group was in charge and Winnie opened the meeting with a poem "On The Threshold Of Spring", followed by a prayer. Betty Coulter led the group in a sing- song using the new book, Celebrate. The scripture was read by Suzanne German and Betty Helesic from Psalm 116 and 119. The theme of our Diamond Jubilee is "PRIDE IN OUR PAST - FAITH IN OUR FUTURE". This year 1985, marks the 60th Anniver- sary of The Royal Canadian Legion, which was founded in 1925 at the Unity Conference held in the city of Winnipeg. Here, 61 delegates from a number of Canadian veterans groups, agreed to accept Union and formed the Canadian Legion. The Domi- nion Charter was granted on July 17, 1926 and Provincial Commands were also chartered during that year. By the end of 1926 the Legion had a membership of 20,000 in 800 branches across Canada..
