"You can't change the.situati$n but Yotfi
can -change how you're responding to it,"
said Pr. Earle.
Ways to cope include exercising regular-
ly, getting as match sleep as you need, taik-
-ing'to a eloseitierg, eliminating smoking,
eating regular ;Meals, enjoying a hobby,
taking a break, determining priorities and
working off steam,'
A good way to, determine if the stress
you're feeling is positive is to figure out the
return you're getting for your stress.
"It's bad to wear yourself out for no good
reason. But, as long as you're content
you're getting a positive return, it's not
necessarily bad if you're shortening your
life by 10 years," he said.
