After at least ten years of dedicated ser- vice, the Sorority Groupsin the Town of Goderich have decided to let another group take on the task of selling daffodils this year. As a member of the Goderich Branch of the Cancer Society, I can vouch that the Society is most appreciative of the work done by the ladies in the sorority groups dur- ingthe past ten years. I understand that the number of branches of daffodils sold has more than trippled in that length of time. There will be very few people reading this paper today whose lives have not been touched by cancer is some way or another. It is probably one of the -most dreaded diseases of our time. I believe that the only way we can hope to come up with a curt, or in the alternative to. alleviate some of the stress from families who have a member now suffering from cancer, is to contribute as much money as we possibly can towards research, and home care. of y,.when 'many young, childrenare Aust ho ' e °fr'om school looking.for something to watch on.TV. Sincerely, Mary Lou Aubin Councillors should clean up street reader says Dear editor; A week ago last Monday hubby and I took a walk around the Square after our noon day lunch. We were astounded to see so much rubbish on the sidewalks in front of many places of business - anything from empty pop cans to pieces of brick and mortar. We appreciated the few business establishments whohad taken the time, and had enough pride in their trade, to clean the sidewalk in front of their store. We go for many walks around the Square and find it, at times, looking good; but, on this ,particular Monday if left much to be desired. It was certainly not the most beautiful town in Canada on this occasion. May I suggest that if the merchants,do not keep the sidewalk clean in front of their stores, that the members of our town council go down and do so' this in return for the trips and dinners, we, the ratepayers, buy them. from time to time, Yours truly, Clean Sweep:, if you are between i 24. une,mi .lo .ad•:rim out of An-the-jelb sl illai - andilr of Li 0. t00` OCAP, the Ontario.Car r, IActien program; carn match i . : r you w tM, !os ess.
