Program finds j obs for young The Ontario Youth Corps program will of- , ..fer more than 2,000 jobs this spring and sum- mer to assist young people who are having special difficulties finding a job, Gordon Dean, Provincial Secretary for Social Development and Phil Gillies, Minister for Youth announced recently. "Ontario Youth Corps offers help to young people who have limited work experience and education," said Mr. Dean. "Jobs available through this program provide an opportunity to develop skills and gain valuable experience." "The wage subsidies provided for jobs in provincial ministries and associated coin- , inanity agencies will support a wide variety of projects. Those jobs include working with children in Housing developments, assisting conservationists, promoting Ontario tourism and helping with energy audits," said Mr. Gillies. Ontario Youth Corps is funded by the Board of Industrial Leadership and Development (BILD) and administered by the Secretariat for Social Development's Youth Secretariat. It is, one of 10 employ- ment initiatives under the Ontario Youth Opportunities program.
