Baptist minister dies in Goderich hospitai PAULETTE MARIE MARTIN Paulette Marie Martin, seven months old, of RR5°Kincardine, died Sunday, Mar. 10, 1985 in the War Memorial Children's Hospital in London. Daughter. of Peter Martin and theormer Louise Dalton, of RR5 Kincardine, she was. born July 20, 1984 in London. Surviving are her parents and her grand- mothers, Marietta Martin and Clarice Dalton, both of Kingsbridge. She was predeceased by her grandfathers Blaize Martin and Mark Dalton. . Mass of the Angels was celebrated in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kingsbridge on Tuesday, Mar. 12 with Rev. E.J. Dentinger, Celebrant. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kingsbridge. Funeral directop was McCallum Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Paul and Shawn Dalton and Joe and Jim Martin. Flowerbearer was Ted Martin. ARTHUR DOUGLAS McMICHAEL World War II veteran. and Tuckersmith Township native, Arthur (Art) Douglas McMichael of 137 Victoria St., Clinton died in Clinton Public Hospital on March 9. He was 65. - He was born gn September 7, 1919, the son of Garfield McMichael and Louise McGee. Mr. McMichael served for six years in the .. army, during World War II, with the Elgin Regiment (Tank Delivery Service) as a Lance Corporal. It was during the war, on September 10, 1945, that he married Rita Anne Thompson in Dundee, Scotland. Mr. McMichael and his war bride return- ed to Canada and lived with his parents. In 1947 the young couple bought a. farm on the 10th Concession of Hullett Township, where they farmed until 1969. In 1969. they moved to Clinton where they have resided ever since. Aftfet nioirir g'to' town; Mr: Michael worked as a carpenter 'and. plumber and worked with his brother 'Frank in building construction. He continued this until his -il- lness began in 1981.. Mr. McMichael was a member of Wesley Willis United Church in Clinton , and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 156, in Seaforth. Along with his wife, Mr. McMichael is sur- vived-by--two-•children;-Mrs, T-erinj d -Rita-) - Davis of Mississauga and Art Jr. of Clinton and four grandchildren, Rhonda, Jeff, Scott and Jesse McMichael. He -' is also' survived by sisters and brothers, Mrs. Isabelle (Sidney) Lee and Mrs. Morley (Ruby) Willis, both of Sarnia, Reg of Windsor, Harvey of Sarnia and Frank of Goderich. He was predeceased by a sister Della McMichael and a brother Ted. Funeral services were held at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home in Clinton on March 11 with Rev. James Bechtel of Wesley -Willis officiating. Interment- was in Maitland Cemetery, Goderich. 1 6 Pallbearers were George Case of Seafor- th, Leonard 'of R.R. 4, Goderich, William Leiper of RR. Surviving..are his wife, the former Bar- bara Romans, one son, Paul and his wife, Sharon, of Hamilton, two granddaughters; Kim and Mamie, and , two sisters, Mary Ross, of Toronto and Margaret Kirkwood, of Burlington. Funeral services were held on Monday, Mar. 11 at the .First Baptist Church with Rev. Gilbert .Kidd and Rev. George Lockhart officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery. Funeral director was McCallum Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Rev. G.L. Royal, Jim Richardson, Bill Chase, Mel Farnsworth, Harold Carter and Bill Ferguson. Honorary pallbearer was Carl Anderson. MARGARET WILSON Margaret Wilson, nee Graham, 88, of Goderich, died Tuesday, Mar. 12, 1985 at Maitland Manor, Goderich. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on Apr. 3, 1896, she came to Canada (Welland, Ont.) in 1920 and later lived in Toronto, Norval and Goderich. ' She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich and the WMS of Knox. She was also a longtime member of the Daughters of Scotland. She was 'predeceased by her husband, Thomas Wilson in 1953; by a daughter, Mamie inr1940 and by a son F/O Thomas A. Wilson in 1944. • -.• v..-. _,., ..,,.u. Surviving are two daughters, - Audrey, Mrs. G. L. Royal of Goderich and Agnes, ' Mrs. Bruce Bourne, of Calgary, Alta., nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Committal services were held at the Fon- thill Cemetery, Fonthill, Ont. conducted by her son-in-law, Rev. G.L. Royal. Memorial service in Knox Presbyterian Church Chapel, Goderich at a later date. , TERENCE HUNTER Teren�unier784 —ofRR2 Seaforth,-died Sunday, Mar. 3, 1985 at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich. Son of the late John Wilson Hunter and Jean Proudfoot Kerr, he was born in Col- borne Township on Mar. 17, 1900. He was married to the former Edna Clara Bennett on June 6, 1923 in Colborne Township. A farmer,- Mr. Hunter was very active in the community. He was an Elder of the United Church for over 30 years, Reeve of Colborne Township, Head of the Colborne Township, school board and president of the Federatin of Agriculture in Colborne Township. He was also a member of the North Street United Church, Goderich. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Carolyn, Mrs. John Thompson, of Seaforth, one son,. Elmer, of Stratford, eight grand- children and 11 great grandchildrien. He was predeceased by one sister, Kate Hunter, one brother; Irving Hunter and one grandson, William. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Mar. 6 at Stiles Funeral Home with Rev. Robert 0. Ball of North Street United Church officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Haycock, of Port, Stanley, Brian Nesbitt, of Goderich, Doug Tottenham, of Owen Sound, Andy Thomp- son-, of Oakville; Jilt Thompson, of Seaforth and Bob Thompson, of London. McWhinnie, 80, of Goderich, died Friday, Mar. 8, 1985 at Alex- andra Marine and General Hospital. The- son -of -. the _late_- iilliam McWhinnie and Elizabeth Irvine, he was born in Motherwell,, Scotland on June 20, 1904. He was a clergyman.with the Baptist Con- vent-ion-of-Ontario on' vert-ion-of-OntarioandQuebee.and.served as minister at First Baptist Churches in Goderich and Clinton from 1972 until his retirement in 1977. ,.
