The comedy thriller by Carol Bolt has
been in rehearsal since February 18 with the
cast of Linda Bolen and Jeff, Christensen
horsing the timing of both the comedy and
the thrilling tension of .the play. One Night
Stand wast e"first' big comedy-thrillerhit in
Canada when it was first produced ip 1977
and has since been presented across North
America, in Europe and in Australia. It was
also made into a movie for television.
The play tells a story of a young woman
whose friends desert her on her birthday so,
in an act of rebellion, she goes out and br-
ings home a stranger to her party and as the
night goes on, she. realizes he is ,even
stranger than she thought. It mixescomedyand thrills together in a skillful mixture.
Theatre Circle is designed to bring profes-
sional theatre for the communities of
Western Ontario in the winter months. After
the performances in Blyth March 7, 8 and 9,
the play will move on for a week each, in
P trona, Chatham and Owen Sound.

General Manager and Playwright 'with the
Blyth Festival.

Night Stand presented by The Theatre CU,
cle at Blyth. XVlemorial Hall Mar. 7, 8 and 9
are now on sale from the Theatre Circle box
office.
There will be a senior citizens matinee of
the play at 2 p.m. on Mar. 7 with special
reduced prices of $6 and a further reductiols
to only $5 for groups of 20 and more. Tickets
for the evening performance at $7.50.
Vouchers for both One Night Stand and
the second production, the comedy T.G.I.1±'.
are still available from the box office or
from volunteers who have been conducting
a sales campaign throughout the area. The
package of two vouchers costs only $12.

Huron Playhouse is
awarded grant from
Ontario Arts Council
Huron Country Playhouse is pleased to an-
notulce a $33,000 operating grant awarded at
a meeting of the Ontario Arts Council.
This money represents a 10 percent in-
crease over that received in 1984. The
money is allocated towai ds the productions
on the Main Stage and Playhouse II, which
this year include: Anne of Green Gables,
Move Over Mrs. Markham, Star Spangled
Girl, The Sound of Music, Blue Champagne
and Sleeping Arrangements. •
The Playhouse will be making further an-
nouncements on a regular basis now that the
operation is in full swing for this year.
The Playhouse, as most know, is located
just outside Grand, Bend on the Stephen B
Line. In addition to a 600 seat theatre, the

The Playhouse schedule is now being
finalized for the summer of '85 and there are
still some dates available when the .facility
is not in full use.

non-profit, community funded organization,
it is hoped that local groups will take advan-
tage of the complex. Catered meals can be
provided, or perhaps meetings followed by
theatre tickets might suit your particular
group or organization:
Past events held at the Playhouse by local
organizations have proved most successful.
