Maria Robertson, 96, of 34 Well- ington St. S., Goderich, died Saturday, Mar. 2 at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich. The daughter of the late Rev. E. James Ford and Annie Douglass, she was born on Sept. 18, 1888 in Lambeth. She was a member of the North Street United Church. Surviving are her husband, Howard Robertson, two sons, John, of Perth and James K., of Toronto and one daughter, Helen M. Bartram, of London. She was predeceased by her brother, Ar- thur Ford and three sisters, Willa, Kate and Hellen. Funeral services and committal were held on Monday, Mar. 4 at Stiles Funeral Home with Rev. Robert O. Ball, of North Street United Church officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery, ALLAN HENRY STOLL Allan Henry Stoll, 65, of RR5 Goderich, died Friday, Mar. 1, 1985 at St. Joseph's Hospital, London after a lengthy illness The son of the late Amos Stoll and Mary Wilson, he was born Jan. 30, 1920 in Grey County. He was married on Sept. 22, 1945 at Thedford United Church to Helen Louise Hamilton, of Thedford. He belonged to the P.D.D.G.M. South Huron District 1973-74, W.P. Blue Water Chapter O.E.S., Lodge of Perfection,' Guelph, Guelph Chapter, Rose Croix, Moore Consistory, of Hamilton. Surviving are his wife, six sons, Robert, of Don Mills, Gordon, of Woodstock, Douglas, of Goderich, Bruce, of Goderich and Lon- don, and Andrew and Scott, at home, one sister Irene, Mrs. Fordyce Clark, of Goderich and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Edgar Stoll in 1985, and one son and daughter in infancy. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Mar. 5 at Stiles Funeral Home with Rev. John D.M. Wood of Victoria St. United of- ficiating. Soloist was John De Jager. Inter- ment Colborne Cemetery. Pallbearers were his six sons, Robert, Gordon, Douglas, Bruce, Andrew and Scott. The Honor Guard was the Bluewater Shrine Club. Flowerbearers were Gordon Fowler, James Prest, Avard Miller, Verne Bean, Greg Ilazlitt, Arnold Young, Hugh Feagan, Charles Adams, Philip Clark and John Stoll. LILIAN THORNELOE Lilian Thorneloe, 95, of Goderich, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 1985 at the Alexandra OBITUARIES. Marine and General Hospital, The daughter of the late James McManus and Ellen Agnes Cowan, she was born Mar. 29, 1889 in Colborne Township. She was a member of the North Street United Church. She was predeceased by her hu$band, Rev. Herbert E. Thorneloe, four sisters, two brothers and two grandsons. Surviving are two daughters, Agnes, of Goderich and Mary, Mrs. Grant Mackenzie; of London, two sons, James, of Windsor and Rev. William Thorneloe, of Toronto, two sisters, Mary, Mrs. William Bisset and Edith, Mrs. Gordon McPltee, two brothers, Wilmer and Robert McManus, six grand- children and four great grandchildren. Funeral and committal services were held at McCallum Funeral Home on Satur- day, Mar. 2 with Rev. Robert O. Ball, of North Street United Church officiating. In- terment Colborne Cemetery. WILFRED GILDERS Wilfred Gilders, 52, of Goderich died Fri- day, Mar. 1, 1985 at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Son of the late Joseph Gilders and Agnes Bradshaw, he was born Jan. 12, 1933 in Goderich. He was an employee of W.J. Mills Motor Sales for 23 years and has been employed by Champion Road Machinery Company for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church and the Royal Cana- dian Legion, Branch 109. Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Young, children, Douglas and his wife, Hilda, of Holmesville, Donald and his wife Lucy, of Calgary and Deanna, of Goderich, three grandchildren, David, Jac- quelin and Stacey, his mother-in-law, Zelta, Mrs. Earl Raithby,, of Kincardine, three sisters, Lola, Mrs. Elwood Atkinson, of Goderich, Barbara, Mrs. Gordon Pollock, of RR5 Goderich and Lillian, Mrs. Albert Govier, of Oshawa, and two brothers, Alvin, of Goderich and Ray, of Clinton. He was predeceased by one sister, tcuoy, one brother, Stewart and his father-in-law, Chris Young. Funeral and committal services were held at the McCallum Funeral Home on Monday, Mar. 4 with Rev. Ushers were Alan, Duane and Marty Rivett, all brothers of the groom. Mr. and Mrs. Rivett are r residing at RR 6 Goderich. 1 Mr. and Mrs. James Cartwright of John Street Auburn received word last week of their son Paul's graduation from Fanshawe College in the motor vehicle mechanic ap- prenticeship program. He is now an inter -provincial Class A mechanic employed at George Noseworthy's Inc. in London. Paul and his wife Wendy reside in London. Paul is a graduate of Clinton High • School. Bishopto s eak on Catholic � education Bishop John Shtrlock will be speaking to teachers and trustees on the subject of Catholic secondary education on March 7. The Huron -Perth Roman Catholic separate school board's secondary school planning committee announced Feb. 25 the Bishop will speak in Mitchell on Thursday, March 7. Chairman of the planning committee, trustee John Devlin of Stratford, said the Bishop -will -bespeaking to priests and the planning committee as well as teachers and trustees. The public hasn't been in- vited, he said,because the Bishop will be addressing the education issues rather than the practical issues. Mr. Devlin said the planning committee will be holding its public meetings during the last two weeks of March. Zella Crawford and her group were in charge. Several members of the group chose a scripture that related to the theme - "Unselfish Love", "Impartial Love," and a poem "Love Your Life Through." Zella Crawford introduced the guest speaker Laura Mullin who showed -a flim - that related to her talk about "Survival Through Friendship". Edith Walker chaired the busineas portion of the meeting. Everyonis welcome at the UCW meeting on Mar. 26, when Dr. Stiller from London will be our guest speaker. His subject will be "The Donation of Organs and Tissue." Col.
