Champion (as it is known to most residents.'of Goderich), started 99 years ago, -therefore the company is making big plans for its 100 year anniversary. The research and development programs have put more emphasis on improving the design and giallitythan ever before. Although the quality of the product goes' up, the price comes down due to stiff com- petition, according to Mr. Metcalfe. He described the "New Motor Grader", as akin to the "New mouse trap." The most innovative thing about the new grader is the transmission, thanks to new technology from . Gearco. Because of modern visual equipment, which can be handled as easy as a briefcase, Champion is able to present its 'new model to its dealers and prospective buyers around the world, almost overnight. It's no wonder "Champion" are becoming known as "The Grader People". Bill was thanked for his very informative presenta- tion by Jack Hoffnieyer. Course helps mothers with pre-schoolers "Pleasures, Problems and Preschoolers" is a parent education program put on by Huron County Health Unit. This is a pro- gram which focuses on encouraging healthy and appropriate relationships among parents and toddlers one - four years old, and conversely in preventing emotional disturbance in children. The one - four years is a most relevant age group. According to Burton L. White, the in- teraction between the mother and her pre- school child is the most powerful factor in the child's development. "The mother's direct and indirect actions with regard to her or to three year old child, especially during the secona year of life, in our opinion, the most powerful for- mative factors in the°development of a pre- school age child. Further, we would guess if a mother does a fine job in the pre-school years, subsequent educators such as teachers will find their chances for effectiveness max- imized." • The objectives of the series "Pleasures, Problems and Preschoolers" are: a) to inform parents of normal, expected behaviour, of toddlers, i.e. child develop- ment b) to encourage parents to deal with ex- pecied a1Lu wicailecLea problems of toddlers in constructive ways c) to encourage parents to use one another as support and as a resource in problem solving d) to encourage parents to discover ways of deriving enjoyment from their children. ' "Pleasures, Problems and Preschoolers" consist of a series of three sessions, each session lasting 41 hours. Subjects covered include development, safety, discipline, health and nutrition and sexuality. Resources used for this series include films, filmstrips, overheads and quizzes. The 'trials of Jesus-Tepicts the death of the innocent Jesus as the sacrifice made necessary on our behalf. We may cringe at the shedding of this man's innocent blood. Yet it was God's will that His Son suffer and die for the guilt of the human race so that in His Name we may find His forgiveness and enjoy eternal life with Him.
