The material was regttes a (tor Nuuein er

Despite the setback, Stewart says the cast.
has been doing well, and are, "really
ready," for the performances; which run
February 20, 21,.1 22 and 23, all evening
shows, curtain time 8 p.m. and a matinee on
February 24, at 2 p.m. All performances will
be staged at the Livery, in Goderich. •
The play will be a lively one, containing
"a lot of vaudeville," owing to its '30's -era
roots, sa;,s Robinson.
The gist of the play. is that Billy (Philip
McMillan) arrives as the ship leaves New•
York for England and when he discovers
that his dream girl, Hope (Jennifer Biskup)
is sailing to be married to Sir Evelyn
Oakleigh (Frank MacDonald), he - stows
away. Also on board are Moonface Martin,
Public Enemy No. 13 (Earl Salter) and his
girl Friday Bonnie (Kathleen Hamilton),
the Roof", five years ago.
The GLT is hoping experience pays off, as
this musical comedy is being put together
under the.direction of the same three people
who made "Fiddler on the Roof" such a suc-
cess. Director Eleanor Robinson is taking
care of the dramatic end of things, while
Choral Director Irla Stewart is making sure
the soloists, duos; trios, and chorus are in
top form and Orchestral Director Hugh
McGregor makes sure the music is true to
score. Warren Robinson, who played one of
the -lead roles in "Fiddler", is in charge of
choreography for "Anything Goes".
The play is a lively fun -filled tale of ship-
board romance, full of Cole Porter songs.
The music has its origins in the 1930's and
was redone during the '50's. The music is
"upbeat", says Stewart and familiar tunes
such as the title song"Anything Goes," and
"Blow Gabriel Blow" should be hits with the

The Livery stage has been transformed
into an ocean liner for this production. Set
director Graham McEwan has created an
impressive "knife -fold" collapsible set, to
accommodate the need for scenes, in various
parts of the ship.
The toughest part of staging this large -
cast Musical for Director Robinson, has
been mastering the intricate timing needed
to keep the multitude of characters on cue.
What has she enjoyed most about working
on this production?
"The people! Their Dedication!" she
says, adding, "Everyone who has been ask-
ed to do a job, hasdone it well."
The box office at The Livery is open from
10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Neekdays. Rush seats will be available at
the door.
