T,;rHy�i v u ivr The Annual Meeting of the Goderich Garden Club was held at Robertson Memorial Public School on Wednesday, January 16th. President Norma Hazlitt welcomed all members and announced , that the Spring Conference for District 8 will be held in Ripley on April 14th. Everett Sparling was projectionist for an interesting film entitled "Winter's Wildlife". 41 Annual repotts indicated a busy and suc- cessful year. Reports were given by the president, Norma Hazlitt, secretary, Beatrice Sparling, treasurer, Doris Hawthorne, membership convenor, Stella Crawford, programme convenor, Dorothy Feagan, and flower festival convenor, Frances Worsell. The retiring president Mrs. Hazlitt thank- ed all who had been members of the ex- ecutive in the past year, also all members of the club for their loyal support. Frances Worsell presented the report' of the Nominations Committee. The following slate of officers for 1985 was approved: past president, Norma Hazlitt; president, Jean Barnett; first vice-president, Elsa Haydon; second vice-president, Enid Bell ; secretary, ,Eileen O'Brien and treasurer, Doris Hawthorne. Directors for one and two years are Jessie Beach, Tom Grasby, Grace Hunter, Joan Stadehnan, Donna Young, Anne Ryan, Irene Todd, Beatrice Sparling, Everett Sparling and Edna Shaw. Committee members include: pro- gramme committee, Jean Finlayson and Edith Lockhart; press and publicity, Janet Kalbfleisch; membership committee, Dorothy Smythe and Isabel Watson; lunch committee, Mary Longmire and Vera Margerm; flower festival committee, Betty Allan,.. Fran Armstrong, Betty Bodaly and Dorothy Feagan; telephone committee, Susan Bell, Jessie Beach, Stella Crawford, Vera Margerm, Annette Stemp, Lillian Turner and • Joyce Riley; and auditors, Claude Kalbfleisch and Ellen Smith. The new president Mrs. Barnett was welcomed to the chair and she .thanked all those who had agreed to take office. The • president announced a meeting of the ex- ecutive in her home on January 30th. " = = On February 12th, the Huron County 4-H Club -Leaders Association will be gathering for their Annual Meeting. . They will be evaluating last year's program and making plans for 1985. Many leaders will also be attending the 4- H Leaders' Regional Conference . on February 13th in Palmerston. Here leaders from Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey, Wellington and Waterloo Counties will be able to share ideas and take part, in a professional development day. The theme of this year's conference is "4-H - A Search 'for Personal Excellence". As well, leaders who will be leading clubs in the spring and winter are attending various workshops over the next several weeks. These provide a chance to learn specific skills relating to the project they ' will be leading.
