This fashion show will be held on Wednes-'
day, March 6, 1985, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m., and 7:30

clothing from 1835 to 1985 and help. celebrate
Goderich Township's 150th Anniversary.

The family box social is generating a lot of
interest. The S.S. 6 section, who organized
this 1 5 - 0 event, is still keeping the name of
the auctioneer a mystery. They have pro-
mised the evening to be an enjoyable,
festive occasion for all. who bring a
decorated box lunch or the money to buy

The first order of the Disney Hitch Wagon
plates is already sold. Another order has
been placed and people will be able to buy
them at the fifteen dollar rate also. Already
about a fifth of this second order has been
spoken for. This will definitely be the only
year that the plate will be for sale. Approx-
imately half of the history books are sold
and anyone wanting one orpvisling to order

dleton). Church have planned honour their
forefathers 'for dedication, planning and
devottion, when they hold ..their annual
Galilean service. This will `add to , the
spiritual tone of the township's celebration.
A Golf Day will be organized by Mike
Moriarty and his committee for September,
It will be held at the Bayfield Golf Club for
township and former township residents. A
definite date will be set shortly since the
committee is trying to avoid a wet day.

Municinalities sharing the landfill site in
Holmesville feel the only way an accurate
cost-sharing agreement can be worked out
is to determine who is throwing what into
the dump. To do that, the municipalities in-
tend to hire someone to monitor the gar-
bage,
Goderich Town Council intends to form a
special committee to determine the amount,
costs and possible reasons for vandalism in
this town.
Champion Road Machinery Ltd.
President Bruce Sully used a gala
presentation Sunday night, to tell the firm's
1,500 employees they will be sharing the
company's profits in 1980. He told
employees the program was a chance for
them to earn more by "working smarter,
not harder".

A good audience greeted Dr. Robert
LeTouzel in the Court House on Monday
evening, to hear his illustrated talk on
Jamaica.
Many of the classes of the Central School
were dismissed on Tuesday morning on
account of the low temperatures in the
rooms.
The work on the cribs for the outside
breakwater was considerably interfered
with the past few days by the severe
'weather.
Mr. A. Strehler Heintzman's piano tuner
is in town again and will be pleased to call on

25 YEARS AGO
"A re -invasion of the Asian strain of
influenza which swept through these parts
several years ago is very probable, since it
has already been identified below us," Dr.
R. H. Aldis MOH of the Huron County Health
Unit reported to the inaugural meeting of
that board, at Goderich on Tuesday.
After several unsuccessful attempts to
dispose of the former hospital building on
South Street and Britannia Road, Council at
its January 15 meeting handed over the
matter to Reeve Frank Walkom, with
Dower. Demolition is now underway

Ways to incorporate more agriculture
features into the 1960 Kinsmen Trade Fair
are now being studied.
40 YEARS AGO
Capt. Arthur B. Dowker, 26, son of G. N.
Dowker and the late Mrs. Dowker, of
Goderich, was awarded the Military Cross.
for valor, for fighting at Boulogne, in
September, 1944.
Fred Seabrook and John Spain were
candidates for the Town Council seat left
vacant by the resignation of Alex Butler.
J. E. Mutch, official weather observer for
Goderich, stated that January of 1945, was
the first January, since he took over, that no
thaw was recorded.
Mrs.' A. H. Taylor was elected president of
the Margaret Seager Club of St. George's
Church.
Group elects officers for 1985
The January meting of the Humanitarian
Services Committee of Rebekah and Odd-
fellows was held at the home of Brother Ar-
nold and Sister Velma Vints.
Brother Cliff Crozier presided for the elec-
tion of officers.
The officers for the year 1985 are: Chair-
man, Sister Elva ..Osbaldeston; treasurer,
Brother Arnold Tint; secretary, Sister Ada
•' Fritzley; social convener, Sister Margaret
Boa; wheelchair committee, Brother Amos
Osbaldeston and Brother Fred Frizleyt in-
vestigating comrnittee, Sister Jessie Beach,.
Sister Edith Craig, Brother Cliff Crozier and
Brother Gordon Harrison; and auditors,
Sister Dorothy Barker and Brother Stanley

pieces of equipment in use and a number of
