standings to date. Ken Johnson provided the
big score rolling a 363 single and an 808 tri-
ple.EarlLawrence was high man for the
Pak with 547.
Selinger-Wood barely managed to hang on
to second spot as they were defeated 20 - 10
by the Tail Ends. Dennis Schmidt and Phil
Hook were the big guns for the Tail Ends
with a 671 and 636 respectively. Don Carrick
had a big night for Sanger with an 813 tri-
ple.
Little, Bowl are a close third as they took
18 points from the A Teeth. Gerry Ross was.

The three winning teams on the Thursday
..Mixed League won by identical 5 - 2 splits.
Norris Lawrence led the "A'1..leam to their
win with a 558 triple, Elsa Finked was high
bowler for the Copycats with a 578. triple.
The Semis? were hot as they blasted the
Dizastors. Bob Johnston led the attack with
a 597 triple. Keith Baer bowled a 213 single,
Denis Jaynes and Gerry Good were top
bowlers for the Dizastors bowling 569 and
568 triples respectively.
The Night Owls were too much for the
Four Seasons. Vi DeHaas was the big gun
for the Night Owls bowling a 593 triple.
Michelle Bizier bowled a 540 triple to stop a
clean sweep by the Night Owls.

Headpins split games with Art's Tarts
with the Headpins getting 4, Ed Smythe 618,
'was high for the Headpins, while Marg
Jewell had a big 260 for the Tarts.
Marg Hornblower was in fine form, with
293, 696, but her team Ed's Girls could only
manage three points from their games
against the Scatterbrains. Kay Glen, 502,
was best for the Brains.
G & M's took full points from the Mad -
caps. Ben Hamilton 565 arid Gary McRae 537
were tops for the G & M's and Grace
Mugford had a 180 for the Madcap&
Vitus with Bill Nisbitt 208, got five points
from the Jems. Mary Harman with a 244 did
well for the Jems.
Ups & Downs are in first place with 79
with G & M's only two points behind.
Senior Vikes clinch second place

The GDCI Senior Vikings assured -
themselves off a second -place finish in the
'Huron -Perth Conference basketball stan-
dings, with a pair of victories last week,
Which leave the Vikings with an 8-1 record.
, Their one remaining game is next
Wednesday, in Listowel. Following that,
the Vikings will have a bye in the quarter-
finals and will play at home in the sudden-
.. deathssennefiranIs on •Thursday, February
21.
The Vikings recorded victories seven
and eight in road games, Tuesday against
Stratford Northwestern, and Friday night
in Exeter.
The Vikings defeated the Northwestern
Huskies 69-56. The Huskies have had an up
and down season so far, but Tuesday they
were definitely up. Both teams played
well, and with three minutes left in the
game, Goderich led by just two points. The
Vikes then went into their four -corner of-
fence and the Huskies were forced into tak-
ing fouls to try to get the ball, but the Vik-
ings shot well from the charity stripe and
padded their. lead.
Dave Smith and Darryl Black had 19
points apiece for the Vikings and Todd
Graham added 16. Dave Almasi hooped
eight, John Thompson got six points and_
Paul Brenner had two for the winners.
The Viking victory Friday over the
South Huron Panthers was another key
win for coach Lynn Meyers' team. The
Panthers and Vikings entered the game
with identical records of 7-1 and neither

Exeter led by three points at the half and
by five after three quarters, by the Vikings
won the game in the fourth quarter, when
they went to a man-to-man defence, which
shut down the Exeter attack. Darryl Black
was particularly effective, blanking the
Panthers top scorer Rob. Tait; who had
already scored 15 points.
Todd Graham led the Vikings with 21
points, seven .hf them on foul shots in the •
fourth quarter, Dave Smith added 10
points, Dave Ahnasi had eight and John
Thompson, who had his best game of the
season handling the ball, had seven points.
Darryl Black got six points and Paul Bren-

The GDCI Midget Vikings split a pair of
Huron -Perth Conference basketball games
last week, -defeating the Exeter South
. Huron, 66-22, Friday night, to snap back
from a 70-54 loss to the Stratford NOr-
e- vestern Huskies, Tuesday in Stratford.

The GDalunior Vikings won one of two
starts in Huron -Perth Conference boys'
basketball play last week.
The 'Vikings lost 52-44 Tuesday in Strat-
ford, to the Northwestern Huskies, but then
came back to jump all over the Exeter South
Huron Panthers 65-17 Friday in Exeter.
The Vikings played well against Nor-
thwestern, but could not match the
firepower of the H.uskey horde.
Stratford led 29-16 at half time and 43-26 at
the end of three quarters. The Vikings

The Vikes close out their gegular schedule
next Wednesday with a game in Listowel
